Senators confirmed President Trump’s 20th federal judge Tuesday, approving William L. Campbell Jr. to a seat on a federal court in Tennessee by a 97-0 vote.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Kentucky Republican, said the Senate will have three more district court nominees on its agenda this week as well, but he complained it will consume the chamber’s entire floor time as they overcome Democrats’ procedural hurdles.

97-0 vote. This cannot be good. At this point any nominee that gets more then a few rats is very suspect or the GOPe cut some kind of deal we’re not going to like one bit.

I’d remind Chuckles that any obstructing he embarks on will push any Immigration bills past the March deadline that could put the DACA people at “risk” of deportation.

Then I’d stack the calendar full of Appointments until then.

All the Senate Democrats voted for a Trump judicial nominee. I’m sure that made them nauseous.

If Turtleface wanted to play hardball, he could stack the Senate agenda with nothing but appointment confirmations, and suspend the filibuster for them.

As one infamous democrat once said, “ Resist we must.”

I was curious how many federal judgeship position there are... Is 20 a drop in the bucket or a huge number?

From Wiki...

“There are currently 874 authorized Article III judgeships: nine on the Supreme Court, 179 on the courts of appeals, nine on the Court of International Trade and 677 for the district courts.[12] Although the number of Supreme Court justices has remained the same for well over a century, the number of court of appeals judges has more than doubled since 1950, and the number of district court judges has increased more than three-fold in that period.[11]”
