'Funny I've never heard you mention my name': Bill Clinton rape accuser (tr)

Not everyone was fawning over Oprah Winfrey's barnstorming speech from Sunday's Golden Globe Awards

Juanita Broaddrick, who has alleged that former President Bill Clinton raped her during his 1978 campaign for Arkansas governor, called out the media mogul for addressing the #MeToo movement during her speech.

Broaddrick, 75, tweeted on Monday morning: 'Hey @Oprah #GoldenGlobes. Funny I've never heard you mention my name. CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW? Guess not. My rapist was/is your friend, Bill Clinton.'

The tweet was particularly poignant as Winfrey's speech decried sexual misconduct and abuse by men in powerful positions as she accepted the Cecil B DeMille Award.

'For too long, women have not been heard or believed if they dare speak the truth to the power of those men,' she said. 'But their time is up. Their time is up.'

Broaddrick then pointed to an interview the 63-year-old talk show host conducted with the 71-year-old former president in August 2004.

When Winfrey questioned Clinton about his sex scandal involving former White House intern Monica Lewinsky, she simply asked: 'What was the most difficult part of that time for you?'

Broaddrick tweeted: 'Remember this @Oprah, You've had so many opportunities to bring up my allegations, which have never been discredited. Why??'

And Broaddrick is a stern warning about where a political clique can go when it seemingly offers something. It’ll let women virtually write their own rulebook, as liberally as they please, on rape — till it comes to one of Bill Clinton’s lust objects.

does anyone realize that Oprah dropped Hillary in 2008 as soon as Barack became prevalent. The Clintons still wield power>

This is one aspect that few mention....the Oprah moment in 2006 (early spring) when she said she’d put her endorsement with Obama instead of Hillary....this was before he was even talking of a serious run. When the smoke cleared in the summer of 2008 with the Democratic Convention in full bloom....analysts figured that one single endorsement and occasional appearances in the primary period...got 2-million votes for Obama. Without that, Hillary probably would have passed him and won easily against McCain.

You can look back now and realize as much power as Hillary had, and the influence of the Clinton Foundation...they were not a match for the public persona of Oprah.

One other aspect here...when in the early days of the Obama campaign (2007)...he desperately needed campaign funds. Oprah held a fund-raiser at the California home and it’s reported that a minimum of 3-million came out of this one evening. Without that funding, it would have handicapped Obama, and Hillary would have held the advantage via the Clinton Foundation.

Broaddrick tweeted: 'Remember this @Oprah, You've had so many opportunities to bring up my allegations, which have never been discredited. Why??'

Two reasons.

The Clintons still are able to draw in huge amounts of campaign cash

Second the dead Friends of Bill list just keeps on growing.

I was sitting in a waiting room back then and was forced to watch oprah. Her guest was the newly elected Senator hussein.
The way she dry humped him and acted like some grade school girl with a crush on her first boyfriend made me hurl. She said that he was not ready yet but after some more experience he would be president.

I still gag thinking about that lovefest/interview.

If you go back to 2004...when he was a state senator in Illinois, there was the very first occasion when she did an non-TV interview with Obama. It came out in the Oprah Magazine in November 2004. Already at that point, she was hyped up on the guy.

Oprah seems to have a few questionable friends. Harvey, Slick Willy, The Coz....not so good, O.
