RICHMOND — Democrat Shelly Simonds has conceded the tied 94th District race out of Newport News that was decided by a random drawing last week.

Simonds, who had suggested she might seek a second recount or contest the election, said she did not see any paths forward to challenge Republican Del. David Yancey’s re-election.

She tweeted about 45 minutes before the General Assembly convened that she was conceding with “great disappointment.”

I have conceded because I do not see any legal pathways forward and I want representation for the 94th district today.

Let me get this straight.

She agreed to have it decided by lot, and then reneged when it didn’t go her way?

That would be a tough one to take. She did the right thing though.

That’s mighty white of her to admit she lost, again,.

I wonder how many millenials know that Al Gore conceded the 2000 election in a phone call. But called W back and reneged on his concession.

W understandably challenged him on it, and that is when Gore uttered the infamous “You don’t need to get snippy about it”

This is the ballot in question:

If he'd changed his mind, the voter should have requested another ballot instead of putting a line through.

Might have something to do with the fact that the Appeals Court slapped down an injunction to stop them from seating the republican

Good. I am happy to be wrong in predicting she would file another lawsuit.

You have that correct. And to boot, there was a good amount of fraud last election to get a few others over the hump.

Hillary should be spending her time in Vegas or Monte Carlo.

Anybody than can win 6 out of 6 coin tosses could parlay her hundreds of millions into a fortune

I would have thrown that ballot out. If you are too stupid to fill out a ballot, you shouldn’t be allowed to vote anyway.

No, the law provides for the drawing. She did say prior to the drawing that she wouldn't seek any further legal remedies if she lost, but once she lost she began to reconsider. I'm very happy the Yancey won and the Republicans took control of the house. It's hard to believe an election could be this close.

That or at least put a solid line through it.

It was only “that close” because of DIM/illegal fraud voting.

Hillary is more than just lucky at coin tosses. She is also a brilliant investor. Remember that back in 1978 she turned a $1000 investment in cattle futures into $100,000.

And it only took 10 months! From Wikipedia:

“One analysis performed by Auburn University and published in the Journal of Economics and Finance claimed to find that the odds of a return that large during the period in question were about one in 31 trillion.”

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hillary_Clinton_cattle_futures_controversy#Likelihood_of_results

(Funny how that Auburn University study was never reported in the mainstream press.)

I wasn’t quite looking at it like that...(Hillary was on record to accept the election results until she lost)...but it will do.

Dems don’t concede that easily. My take is she conceded for the reason that a recount would expose some fraud. We can’t have that right?
