I watched DUNKIRK and DARKEST HOUR...

DARKEST HOUR was fine...

But, I agree with Michael Medved that the subway scene was annoying... I don't think Churchill really needed to hear regular citizens' opinions to make up his mind... I do understand that DARKEST HOUR is not meant to be a documentary...But, still...

I intend to watch I, TONYA soon...

I thought that PATRIOTS DAY and WONDER WOMAN were fine movies...I watched them in theaters last year...

The only one on this list that I saw was Dunkirk.

The only other movie I saw last year was Guardians of the Galaxy 2.

Looking forward to 3...

There’s probably a dozen scenes that you’d have to watch two or three times in GoG2 because the direction of the movie shifts, or some character really shocked you. It’s a movie you can walk out of, and feel entertained.

Did anyone see The Commuter with Liam Neeson? After hearing countless ads for it on talk radio, I saw it in an AMC Dolby theater with the rumble seats. It was terrific!

How come Post doesn’t make the Worst list? Medwedew likes bad movies that are not ideological.

I can't believe that Medved would regard Dunkirk as the number two movie.

The movie portrayed such a pathetic rescue attempt--a few boats, a ship, and an officer to stand on the pier.

The movie, I think, would have made Clem Miniver put his overcoat collar up, stick his hands in his pockets, and say, "Why even bother?", and head for home.

The rescue at Dunkirk was heroic and prideful. Even the city of London sent the Thames River fire boat to the beach.

I saw The Greatest Showman, enjoyed it, but it was just mediocre. As a Star Wars fan, I won’t see the new SW movie, but I hear it’s awful.

The fact that “The Shape of Water” is on Medved’s “good” list invalidates the list...and Medved.

Matt Damon makes the worst list twice with Suburbicon and Downsizing. Lil’ Matty will be revving up Bourne Identity No. 15 soon to try to remain relevant. At this rate they pull his FAG card. (Film Actors Guild)

Plus, they made the central character on the subway a black man-pandering?

I agree with Michael Medved that the subway scene was annoying.

When I saw, in the previous scene, that it was suddenly raining hard, I knew some story-telling shenanigans were imminent.

The only other movie I saw this year, "Marshall", presented the same bright beacon of imminent sleight of hand. A hard rain, the first rain in the movie, signaled that something was afoot, specifically in this case that both Thorgood Marshall and his colleague were to be beaten up by cartoon racists in different places at exactly the same time. Come on.

The "cue the rain" trope has been so overused and is so obvious that it takes me out of the movie for a moment when it is employed in even serious movies.

The only movie on those lists we saw was Pirates of the Caribbean, and we liked it.

What can I say. Often, critics and I disagree on what makes a good film.

It’s ratings were all over the place.

I saw about half of them. Three of the best movies I saw last year were “Maudie”, “Last Flag Flying”, and “The Exception”. One of the worst was the other Churchill movie, “Churchill” with Brian Cox.

Haven’t seen one of these on either list. I did enjoy GotG2 though. Will not pay to go to the theater and be interrupted by some three year old yelling and screaming or some punk that won’t turn his phone off.

Mark Steyn pointed out in his review of “Darkest Hour” that it was Churchill who encouraged the British public to fight on, not the other way around. Churchill didn’t need bucking up by the public; the public needed a leader like him.

90% of his radio show these days is how much he hates President Trump.
