Was just having this exact conversation with my dad last night.
however Obama is still 5th best of all time:
1. Trump, Reagan & Lincoln tied for first,
2. Twenty three presidents tied for second,
3. Seventeen other presidents tied for third,
4. Jimmy Carter came in fourth, and
5. Obama came in fifth.

That means Obozo comes in 45/45.
Probably the best year since Harry Truman’s first year.

In fairness to President Reagan, he didn’t have a Republican majority in Congress, nor was there a conservative media besides William F. Buckley
In Reagan’s defense, the Dems had a stranglehold on the House, and the Senators were worse then. Today we call Orrin Hatch a RINO, he and Cochran were heroes compared to the likes of Weicker, Packwood, Specter, Heinz, Frank Murkowski, Paula Hawkins, Hatfield, Percy, Chafee, Pressler, John Warner.
It has taken a long time to steer this party away from the Rockefeller patrician wing, and President Reagan was at the helm before the movement had critical mass.

Reagan didn’t have a very good first year, he really didn’t hit his stride until about his third year. Most forget that at one point in 1982 Reagan’s approval was in the mid 30% range...

Yep - some were upset at anyone replacing Reagan at the top of the heap - when they should have been rooting for it to happen. I have no less love for the Gipper, but trump learned from his mistakes and is not handcuffed with self-defeating “politeness”...

All true what you said. But, falling for the blanket Amnesty ruse to 3 million illegals by Tip O’Neill was a blunder of gargantuan proportions. Condoning and pardoning illegal behavior is guaranteed to cause MORE illegal behavior. Anyone who does not understand is not a good student of history. Now we have anywhere from 11 to 30+ million illegals here. Not to mention a million DACA people.
