Strong faith binds Eagles, attracts new fans

Seventy-two-year-old Susan Collesidis was never a football fan until she heard Carson Wentz talk about his faith.

Then she was hooked on the Philadelphia Eagles.

When Wentz found out his newest fan was fighting an advanced stage of cancer, he sent her an encouraging message with inspirational Bible verses. --SNIP-- Wentz isn’t playing in the Super Bowl against the New England Patriots because he tore his ACL in Week 14. But backup quarterback Nick Foles is also a “brother in Christ” and one of the leaders in a locker room filled with guys who have formed a strong bond because of their faith.

“It truly is a brotherhood,” Pro Bowl tight end Zach Ertz said. “Those guys are holding me accountable. Off the field, I’m holding them accountable. We truly care about each other, we truly care about the growth that each individual has in the word, as believers, as well as friends and family. There are a lot of guys who are truly trying to boost me up and keep me focused on the main thing, which is obviously the word …”

Christian players openly expressing their faith is nothing new in the NFL: Reggie White, Kurt Warner, Tim Tebow, Ray Lewis and Russell Wilson among many others. But these Eagles are a unique, close-knit group

I don't know how he wound up writing for AP but he hosts a radio show called Faith on the Field. .If you get invited to a Super Bowl party and want a rooting interest please read the story about Foles and Wentz. I respect everyone boycotting the NFL. I wont be watching much of the Super Bowl but if the Eagle win I will tune in to see Nick Foles say "All glory belongs to God."

The liberal dopes on the Eagles are Malcolm Jenkins and Chris Long (Howie's son).
My 14 year old niece on the west coast wants a Nick Foles jersey. I cant decide if I should I buy her one. Foles is a great guy but I cant stand the NFL.

For Sirius/XM fans, I do miss The Loft - which has been taken over by Eagles music since about Christmas. Yeah, I know you can still stream The Loft on your devices but I don't have it in my car radio anymore. Missed my Celtic Crush fix this morning while driving to my hiking spot.

Anyway, The Eagles do not deserve their own station before Bob Dylan. When is Sirius/XM going to give Bob Dylan his own station? They have Beatles, Presley, Tom Petty, Grateful Dead, even Pearl Jam with their very own station! It's a crime they don't have one for Dylan. Hell, you could have a separate station just for Bob Dylan covers!

I don't think you are correct about that. Why would Sirius/XM need an artists permission to create a dedicated channel anyhow? I doubt they got Elvis' permission as he died decades before satellite radio was invented.

Also, Bob Dylan did a show on Sirius a few years back. "Theme Time Radio Hour" or something like that.
