A man and woman who were allegedly fleeing a bank robbery were arrested in Bouctouche after they stopped at a Tim Horton's drive-thru.

RCMP say several thousands of dollars was stolen from a Royal Bank during the heist Monday afternoon in eastern New Brunswick, but the money has since been recovered.

The man, who was on parole at the time, is expected to face charges of robbery and disguise with intent in Moncton provincial court this afternoon, RCMP said.

The woman is scheduled to appear in court on May 8.

Royal Bank employees called police shortly after 4 p.m. on Monday to report the robbery. They provided a description of the suspects and the getaway car, said Sgt. Patrick Tardif.

The employees said an unarmed man, whose face was partially covered with a bandana, had robbed the bank, and a woman was at the wheel of the getaway car.

An officer who was travelling between Bouctouche and Richibucto spotted the suspect black vehicle headed south on Route 11, between Sainte-Anne-de-Kent and Bouctouche, said Tardif.

The officer made a U-turn to follow the vehicle and other officers joined the pursuit, he said.

They followed the car until it took the Bouctouche exit and stopped at a Tim Hortons drive-thru in the town, located about 55 kilometres north of Moncton.

as an ex-Canadian I cant blame them. Tim Horton’s makes Starbucks coffee taste like crayons dipped in sewer water. and more surprising is the lazy ass RCMP. Then again, they hang out at Tim Horton’s too so they did close to nothing.

They must have worn a cop uniform as a disguise.

There's always Canadian Tire. And you get Canadian Tire dollars to boot.

Now that I think about it, Sears-Canada is closing/has closed all their stores. (I get CTV out of Montreal...)

I remember reading in the Globe and Mail that Moncton has the highest per capita consumption of coffee in the world. Great place to own a Tim Horton’s, eh?

Any more bear problems since your last incident a few years ago?

So far so good.
Haven’t seen any bear near my home, mostly deer and other small critters.
I do have 50 acres of undeveloped woodland that I’ll start working on this year
I did see a bear there about 8 years ago. I’ll go prepared for trouble.
Unfortunately, Sam my dog won’t be along. He passed away last June.

Thanks for the reply. Your bear story is incredible. So sorry about your dog. My dog, who is now 16, is named Sam too.

“”The woman is scheduled to appear in court on May 8.””

Unless she’s locked up, they expect her to hang around until then? I thought our system was messed up...
