HONOLULU (AP) Hawaii's emergency management leader has resigned and a state employee who sent an alert falsely warning of an incoming ballistic missile has been fired, officials said Tuesday, weeks after the mistake caused widespread panic. Hawaii Emergency Management Agency Administrator Vern Miyagi stepped down Tuesday, state Adjutant General Maj. Gen. Joe Logan said. A second agency worker quit before disciplinary action was taken and another was being suspended without pay, Logan said in announcing results of an internal investigation.

So the “one person” responsible story wasn’t true.
Trump Derangement Syndrome, guaranteed!
I think so, too.
[ Hawaii Emergency Management Agency Administrator Vern Miyagi ]
This smacks of some millenial punks idea of a dry run to demonstrate with some twisted logic just exactly how horrible Trump really is........either that or a Deep State FF muscle flex
This was no mistake. The dumbass who did it did it on purpose.
He must belong to the wrong Democrat Club.
The governor was advised of the false alert within 5 minutes of it going out but he could not tweet that it was false because he did not know his twitter password. Took another half hour to get a tweet out. Does the idiot governor also get his walking papers?
His refusal would appear to make it a SWATting of the Trump adminstration.
It seems ONE person was directly responsible but naturally management has to be held responsible also.
That’s the way it is.
The employee has been fired according to a report I read today.
Wow. I guess working for the People’s Democratic Republic of Hawaii has its risks.
Not Mr. Miyagi ....
Resigned? Give me a break.
This idiot should have been fired. Canned and caned.
“””The worker, who was fired Friday and whose name has not been revealed, has confused real-life events and drills in the past, the state said in a report. His poor performance has been documented for years, and other members of the team say they were not comfortable working with him in any role.”””
Another example of repeated incompetence by government workers and these employees are not terminated until people get injured.
The OP mentions two others - one of which resigned almost immediately. Sure, holding management responsible is normal but it sounds like there are others that were involved.
No such thing as bad student, only bad teacher. Teacher say, student do."
Imus used to do a funny skit with a guy named Buddy Miyagi.
