ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Some polar bears in the Arctic are shedding pounds during the time they should be beefing up, a new study shows. It’s the climate change diet and scientists say it’s not good.

Or it could be an overpopulation of polar bears, since there are many more now than ten years ago. That’s why hunting animals is a good thing.

Haven’t we had record sea ice over the past few years?

They adduce “thin ice”; yet nowhere in the article is the “thin-ness” of the ice mentioned (as in measurements). One would think that would be a key aspect of their main assertion. Alas, no.

The only thing that is on thin ice is anthropogenic global warming. We need reliable, observable, consistently-over-decades measurements, using the same or similar instruments, evenly distributed worldwide. Until then, they’re just talking out their methane-holes.

A polar bear is an apex predator. It basically only dies when it is too old or sick to eat... as theY waste away, they get skinny.

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where those treetops glisten
and children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow !

Wait a minute. I thought global warming was supposed to have wiped out polar bears by now.

The vast majority of polar bear populations have been increasing dramaticly.

This alarming event has been caused by Climate Change... because everything is caused by Climate Change...

I have serious doubt about this entire story. Polar ice thinning does not seem possible. When that first polar air mass descended upon the North American Continent, people were freezing all the way down to Florida and points south. We are now again in a polar air mass. Maps of the frigid north show that the cold mass over the Arctic is still in place, and will take 1-2 months to recede only with the advance of spring with more sunshine in the northern hemisphere.

I’m a strong believer in climate change. As an example, my climate has changed by 25 degrees (F) just since the sun came up today.

In a world that needs more "investigative journalism" these talking heads who claim to be "reporters" are actually calling for the truth to be hidden ... down is up, black is white, evil is good. Liberalism is a mental disorder.

Speaking of global warming, that groundhog Phil, global warming denier that he is, predicted six more weeks of winter. Slimy little rodent probably wants that memo released, too.

Every biased report of polar ice receding or thinning speaks only of Arctic Ice (presumably at the North Pole), with no mention of historic increases in Antarctica polar ice (at the South Pole). Why do you suppose that is?

That must be why Russia is building more and more icebreakers, some nuclear powered.
