House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif, and Democratic lawmakers slammed President Trump after he approved the release of a memo questioning surveillance methods by the FBI during the early stages of the Russia investigation, arguing that he gave up “his constitutional responsibility” by releasing it.
“President Trump has surrendered his constitutional responsibility as commander in chief by releasing highly classified and distorted intelligence,” Pelosi said. “By not protecting intelligence sources and methods, he just sent his friend Putin a bouquet.
"[House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin] Nunes’ partisan spin memo distorts highly classified intelligence in a cynical attempt to discredit our national intelligence and law enforcement agencies and the Special Counsel investigation,” Pelosi argued. “Releasing the memo is a desperate attempt to distract the American people from the truth about the Trump-Russia scandal.”
Pelosi reiterated her call for Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., to remove Nunes as chairman of the committee and repeated the FBI's warning against releasing the memo, saying it would be an "extraordinarily reckless" action.
Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., the ranking member on the House Judiciary Committee, called the memo a Republican "betrayal of the American people."
"House Republicans are now accomplices to a shocking campaign to obstruct the work of the special counsel, to undermine the credibility and legitimacy of the Justice Department and the FBI, and to bury the fact that a foreign adversary interfered with our last election," the Democratic members of the committee said.
The memo says the dossier compiled by Christopher Steele was used by the FBI as part of the initial request and all three renewal FISA applications against Carter Page, a former adviser to the Trump campaign. The FBI, however, launched its formal investigation into the Trump campaign in July 2016 due to the activities of foreign policy aide George Papadopoulos.

“As the Department of Justice warned, the public release of the memo would be an ‘unprecedented action’ and ‘extraordinarily reckless.’ The FBI also expressed ‘grave concerns about material omissions of fact that fundamentally impact the memo’s accuracy.’
“Nunes’ partisan spin memo distorts highly classified intelligence in a cynical attempt to discredit our national intelligence and law enforcement agencies and the Special Counsel investigation. Releasing the memo is a desperate attempt to distract the American people from the truth about the Trump-Russia scandal.
“One year ago, the intelligence community concluded that the Russians interfered in our elections and plan to do so again. Yet, the President refuses to hold Putin accountable, making us all ask: what do the Russians have on Trump, politically, financially and personally?
“As the Speaker and former Vice Presidential candidate, Speaker Ryan knows how dangerous it is to jeopardize our intelligence and national security. Why is he enabling this recklessness and not taking action to remove Chairman Nunes?”
Whoever incites, sets on foot, assists, or engages in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof, or gives aid or comfort thereto, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

Democrats should have award shows for who can spew the most absurd over the top hyperbole.
Good Lord, how the Democrats love to tie a shredded copy of the Constitution around their enemies’ necks.
As if Nancy Pelosi cared a whit about the “living document,” that means whatever her party wants it to mean, and can be ignored when it impedes their insane drive to take “transform America.”

I have many times pointed to various intel
agencies of liberal-Russia ties and they always refused to
do the surveillance.
That vile creature’s visage can best be described as reptilian.
It is going to take about 3 more years to see all of these evil dems in prison or in front of a firing squad. It will happen.
It is fundamentally imperative for the preservation of our nation and of its constitution that its domestic enemies be brought to justice.
To the contrary, Madame Pelosi, the president picked up his constitutional power and slung it on the field.
It’s looking like the Democrats have never experienced a real battle, and they’re absolutely not taking it well.
Trump has put a nasty gash in their head and taught the rest of us how to fight and mean it.
Right. Nobody would have ever heard of FISA, the FBI, CIA, James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Rod Rosenstein, etc. if this memo had never been released to the public. LMAO.
And I surrendered my obligation to live in accordance with the Constitution by giving my cat Purina Cat Chow instead of rat stew made from Democrat meat.
