Trump gets my vote for JFK’s ‘Profiles in Courage’ award

If the Kennedys were brave and bold, they would choose President Donald Trump as the 2018 recipient of the JFK Profiles in Courage Award.

It won’t happen, of course, but it should.

Right now, the Kennedy Foundation is soliciting nominations on the internet which no doubt will be filed and ignored.

The award is the annual prize given to a public person, often a politician, who risked everything in pursuit of the greater good of the country.

If that doesn’t fit Trump, then nothing does.

The award is named after the title of the book, Profiles in Courage, written by John F. Kennedy when he was a U.S. Senator from Massachusetts

The Kennedys have no shame. It is pretty well known JFK had nothing to do with the “Profiles of Courage” book. It was written by the Kennedy court historian Arthur M. Schlesinger.

I never follow these JFK awards. But, would not be surprised, if they go to people in pursuit of liberal causes only.

If Trump wins the award, he will be in illustrious company. In 1992, the award went to Governor Lowell Weicker of Connecticut for pushing through a state income tax against massive opposition.

Other distinguished recipients include President Obama, Ted Kennedy, John McCain and Russell Feingold

I nominated Devin Nunes. It’s easy to do but I was a day late in submitting his nom as his memo wasn’t out until Feb 2nd.

I wonder who is on the short list, other than Hillary. Valerie Jarrett? Chuck Schumer? Lisa Lerner? Adam Schiff? Maxine Waters? James Comey?
