Of course they do... but let’s examine those countries that typically do these kinds of things? France? Statist. NK, Russia, other communist countries? Statist. We honor our military in all sorts of ways and I don’t think that’s an issue.

That said I can’t help but like Trump more for it. My thinking is that The Donald is a product of an era that was proud of our military for what it did in WWII. I know I am. As such I trust his motives and don’t feel he’s in any way trying to be authoritative... he’s trying to demonstrate how proud he is of our troops.

As someone posted earlier... it gives the media, Never Trumpers and other haters opportunities to advance a narrative. That’s not necessarily a reason to not do it...

My thinking is he would better serve the military by really playing up the existing military-themed holidays, visiting our troops in the most visible ways possible, and funding our military.

There may be a parade there may not be a parade but why is this ‘duh the president wants a BIG parade’ coming out now? I say, that’s bait. It’s covfefe. What is he really up to?
