Do you think they are dismissing the charges from any of the bikers that have filed Civil Suits?

cut and paste error on first paragraph:

Prosecutors will seek to dismiss charges against more than 20 bikers arrested after the deadly May 2015 shootout at Waco’s Twin Peaks restaurant, sources with knowledge of the situation said Wednesday.

The sources, who requested anonymity, said the McLennan County District Attorney’s Office will ask a state district judge to dismiss charges against 13 bikers indicted for engaging in organized crime and will drop charge against eight others who weren’t indicted.

Like I say, none of these cases will be allowed to progress to discovery. In 7 more years an “investigation” into what happened will produce a report that ends up in a couple low level flunkies getting a wrist slap.

Will dismissing charges get them their reputations, lost jobs and wages back??

No, of course not. A LOT of people in law enforcement and the justice system there need to be spending the rest of their lives in prison. This was no more than an ambush and execution by law enforcement, and then malicious prosecution in an attempt to cover up what was actually going on.

It would have been nice if they identified the motorcycle clubs these people were associated with.

So far I only recognize one name...Clifford Pearce is the Cossack prospect who was shot and seriously wounded in the parking lot at the beginning of the gang melee, and was named in the charges presented against Bandido Jake Carizzal.

He was also one of nine people who were charged under a sealed indictment in 2015.

McLennan County District Attorney Abel Reyna is totally corrupt. Plays both sides for fame and fortune. I have been following since this event occurred. Mr. Reyna is constantly positioning himself to be the moneymaker from all things Twin Peaks. Now he is trying to save his own ass from crimes and Prosecurial Misconduct. It seems just like the Bundy case in Nevada.

I rehabbed a 250 unit apartment project in Waco years ago. Rebuilt it is probably more accurate. Anyway, I was forced to stay in the town during the week (Mon-Thurs nites).

My recollections are not good. There were no “nice” bar/restaurants/clubs to go to...............only hole in the wall, concrete floor, jukebox blaring, lowest of the low clientele type bars with gravel parking lots and chuck holes by the dozen. Twin Peaks would have been a MAJOR step up back then.

Alas, the facts are that Waco is not what you call a “fun” place to go to. No need to ever go there again unless I’m driving to Dallas which I try to limit to once a decade due to traffic.

Prolonged litigation without jail time can be just as destructive as jail time. I hope civil suits remedy this.

13 of the subhuman, color wearing monster scum of the earth had their charges dismissed. Oh, the humanity!

I wonder, when will the Waco law enforcement community give them their lives, careers and reputations and wallets back?

What’s the hurry? It hasn’t yet been 3 full years. Reyna and crew couldn’t spend even more time destroying these people’s lives? /sarc

That should be the front page headline on the Waco Tribune-Herald. Dropping charges that should never have been brought in the first place. Lives were ruined. Families destroyed. Homes lost.

It's a start. More should be dropped. Actually, charges against the feds and Waco should be brought.

Back in the early 90s, we’d occasionally (make that rarely) drive to Waco to Christmas shop at the mall or buy cheap tires. Other than that, it just wasn’t appealing, especially the creepy billboard on the highway advertising the muslim society. Yes, the brotherhood was alive and well as far back as that.

Abel Reyna should be arrested by the feds.

Twenty years ago I wouldn’t have said this...

Some bikers are bad dudes. So are the FBI and the Waco pd and county sheriff.

For example: more people have been killed in Waco by the feds (atf, fbi, etc), than by ALL the bikers in TX.

I went mountain biking in Waco once, and the trails sucked.

That’s my only experience with that place.

Dismissing these charges only makes winning the civil lawsuits much more likely; and those whose charges have been dismissed have a slam dunk case against the government.

.............lol, I found about Waco that “leaving” was a good “experience”..........

They do have the Texas Ranger Museum on the bank of the Brazos and that place is just outstanding.
