I am with Rand on this one. Time t get the house in order & get back to regular order.

Out of control spending is baked into the system.

Latest update:

What we know now
The next vote is at 1 a.m. ET. Paul will be allowed to speak again for an hour.
Expect the final passage to happen after Paul’s remarks.
The bill then goes to the House, where a vote will happen between 4 a.m. ET and 6 a.m. ET.
Lawmakers think the shutdown could be over before most federal workers wake up tomorrow morning.

This bill doesn’t stick us with DACA. I’m tempted to say to just let it pass so we can remove the DACA-bastards out of the country and out of the equation entirely.

“Lawmakers think the shutdown could be over before most federal workers wake up tomorrow morning.”

They work all night for the fedgov workers.

They wouldn’t do it for people like me.

Shut it down and leave it down.

yup - Rand is correct, cut the budget 15% and we run a surplus.

Anyone want to argue the Feds cannot cut 15% of their costs ?

I admire Rand Paul for standing on his principles of fiscal sanity and small government.

He won’t survive though. We live in a country whose monetary system is based on printed, unbacked money and massive debt. That means there is always more money for government and social engineering schemes. Its far too easy for any politician to simply agree to more spending and debt for bread and circuses.
