Trump needed to tweet the following:

Just signed Bill. Our Military will now be stronger than ever before. We love and need our Military and gave them everything — and more. First time this has happened in a long time. Also means JOBS, JOBS, JOBS! We need to elect more FISCALLY CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS.

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 9, 2018

Without more FISCALLY CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS in Congress, we were forced to increase spending on things we do not like or want in order to finally, after many years of depletion, take care of our Military. Sadly, we needed some Dem votes for passage. Must elect more FISCALLY CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS in 2018 Election!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 9, 2018

Costs on non-military lines will never come down if we do not elect more FISCALLY CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS in the 2018 Election, and beyond. This Bill is a BIG VICTORY for our Military, but much waste in order to get Dem votes. Fortunately, DACA not included in this Bill, negotiations to start now!

What happened to the line item veto that Reagan fought so hard for?

Ruled unconstitutional in 1998 - Clinton v. City of New York (524 U.S. 417).

The truth of the matter is that republicans only act ‘conservative’ when they aren't in charge. Remember they complained about the debt, wasteful spending, got to read bills before voting, each bill has to be constitutional, etc..

In the absence of more FISCALLY CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS perhaps the President should lead the way and veto deficit growing bills like this?

“He’d be perfectly fine with a Federal budget triple its current size, as long as it was all spent on Americans.”

As you know, an unconscionable amount of money is spent on things other than Americans and/or that serve American interests.

CR’s and the prospect of ‘government shutdowns’ give cover to the big spenders.

The newest MEME is Republicans don’t care about Deficit Spending, making it sound like the Democrats do.

Now that there is a two year deal (like it or not), it’s time to get the Trump Agenda moving ahead.

How about these Politicians spend their time securing our Borders and cutting back Government Spending? Yeah, right.

The reality is he loses House and Senate in 2018 with a Veto. I HATE it but that is a fact.

We need to hold House and Senate or Trump will be made a Dead Man Walking. I have hopes for 1 or 2 more SC Justices.

I had hoped that the Pres would stand up for U.S. Disgraceful failure and betrayal by all who were participants in this.

Why did a majority of House Democrats vote against it? Objectively, the bill seems to stink, but you always have to assume, if Democrats oppose something, it must be good for America.

Any ideas?

The reality is that GOP DESERVES to lose House and Senate after signing this deal. Whatever happened to NEVER SURRENDER?

The voting is a scam. Safe Dems vote aye, and the rest vote no, b/c they want even MORE radical transformation.

The lack of responses thus far indicates that everyone here knows that this sludge deal sucks, and is anti-Contituional and anti-American.

“This was a bad deal for America”

Perhaps parts of it are, but it’s way better than no deal at all or another CR, and it gives the President some running room to fix what he really doesn’t like. The other good thing that’s happened as a result of the Tax Reform Bill is that government revenue is up. January it was up $18 billion. Achieving a vibrant economy is going to help the deficit by virtue of the increased incomes and consequent tax collections. Now the job is to shutter Federal Agencies that have no real purpose other than RAT jobs programs to buy votes, and to seriously curtail foreign aid and our “support” for the UN.

” We need to elect more FISCALLY CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS.”

That is at the basis of our problem. And it’s nearly all a problem with the Senate. There is a razor thin margin there to pass anything, and you have pr!cks like Rand Paul pulling stunts that just gum up the works. I am beginning to belief I understand why his neighbor attacked him. The other impediment is Bitch and his continuation of the 60 vote “rule.” There’s no Constitutional requirement for same.

“Trump didn’t hold out for $8 billion for a wall? “

Wall funding would be part of the upcoming final appropriations bill.
