The Book Against Transgender Extremism
Townhall.com ^ | February 9, 2018 | Brent Bozell

When secular leftists express frustration at how practicing Catholics (their humble servants) and evangelicals could have ever voted for Donald Trump, the first thing they refuse to concede is the horror of the alternative.

They refuse to admit that Hillary Clinton clearly, forthrightly stood for abortion on demand, at any time, for any reason and even supported having it funded by pro-life taxpayers. It's what she and her husband called "safe, legal and rare." Clinton and her crew even dismissed the videotaped discussion of Planned Parenthood's dead-baby-organ-selling grotesqueries as somehow fictional. And they refuse to admit that Clinton represented the creeping extremism of the LGBT movement, with its emphasis on redesigning all the nation's bathrooms, not to mention human nature.

Dr. Ryan Anderson of The Heritage Foundation has a new book called "When Harry Became Sally: Responding to the Transgender Moment." He explains that you can see the swift descent into the denial of reality by reviewing tracts of the Human Rights Campaign. In 2005, it declared that transgender people "identify" as something that "does not match their physical sex." And with that the bottom fell open.

By now, the HRC (not to be confused with Hillary Rodham Clinton, though HRC is HRC's best spokeshuman) expresses an intolerance for the idea that we should speak of "real" or "biological" men and women. Its website says: "Contrasting transgender people with 'real' or 'biological' men and women is a false comparison. They are real men and women, and doing so contributes to the inaccurate perception that transgender people are being deceptive when, in fact, they are being authentic and courageous."

There is so much Orwell packed into that last sentence. Hiding your penis or your breasts is not "deceptive" -- it's "authentic"? Christians see all this as pretzeled logic. You simply cannot deny the reality of the Creator's design without going into tortured explanations like that. There's an easier out, of course. Just deny His existence -- and it all falls into place. So they become their own God and redefine humanity according to their own whims. Those whims then become "authentic."

The denial of gender reality frightens people -- yes, even many liberals -- and it should. Anderson said in a Weekly Standard interview that his liberal friends are suggesting the transgender activists are walking into a backlash because their deconstructionist agenda is just ... that.

One friend pointed out a viral video "in which someone who describes herself as a an 'intersectional feminist,' a 'queer girl,' etc., declared that having 'genital preferences' is transphobic, and that 'preferences for women with vaginas over women with penises might be partially informed by the influence of a cissexist society.'"

We don't really know what that means. Anderson added, "this was not satire."

His liberal friend objected to being called transphobic because he only dates biological women. The folks who fought for "sexual freedom" now say you can't have "genital preferences"? You can't just tolerate transgender individuals; you must date them? Lecturing lesbians and saying they're bigots if they don't want "women with penises" doesn't exactly bode well for keeping the LGBT together.

Anderson's book is dismissed as "hate speech," and let's not kid ourselves: The LGBT folks would like to ban a book like this, especially when he discusses that which they wish were silenced. He writes that 41 percent of people who identify as transgender attempt suicide. Death by suicide is 19 times more likely to happen for people who have had the "joy" of transition surgery. They have gender dysphoria, and Christians should respond with compassion.

But the LGBT crowd sees it otherwise. It defines compassion as meeting all of its demands, including requiring every insurer to pay for gender-confirmation surgery and every Catholic hospital to perform it. Worse yet, it demands its ideology be taught to children, confusing and scaring millions of them about the simplest undeniable facts about who they are.

That's a strong reason for the churchgoing conservatives to look past Trump's "Access Hollywood" braggadocio and affairs from before he became a politician and vote against the extremism -- the evil extremism -- that Hillary Clinton endorsed.

Every single time a leftist asks me how a Christian like me could vote for Donald Trump, the answer is always the same: The last time I voted “for” a presidential candidate was 1980. Every other time my vote was “against” a candidate.

A fun question: Imagine Stalin and Hitler were still alive and both running for “president” of Israel with no other viable candidates. As an Israeli Jew, which one do you vote “for”.

However, all that being said, I look at Trump’s accomplishments and he’s proven to be both more productive and more conservative than Reagan. He’s the best president in my lifetime. I’m 64.

It would be far better if we were honest.

1. One’s gender identity is in our brains. We take it for granted. We need to realize that some people learn they are supposed to be, say, a boy, but they start to notice they feel inside like a girl. They might express it and be told they are a boy and they must act / wear / so what boys do. So they feel confused inside and try to hide the “wrong” feelings they have in their heads. It must be a sad, difficult life, to have this brain / gender dysfunction.

2. Suicide rate is high among people with gender dysphoria.

3. As humans, we need to try and find prevention and cure for this condition. Right now, the only treatment pushed is “transitioning.” This is a lie, to be able to “change your gender.” However, 50%of people are happier after transitioning. So half the people are helped somewhat.

4. More transitioned people with gender dysphoria kill them selves, probably because they hoped it would work and solve their identity problems, but it did not. The motivation is higher to commit suicide because they don’t have anything else to try, once they’ve tried the only “treatment” offered today. And 50% success is not a significantly good treatment.

5. I believe honest social education and therapy is the best treatment. Everyone should learn that some people are born with disabilities. Some you can see all the time, like someone without a leg. And some you can’t see all the time like autism or gender dysphoria. Allow the child to dress and play with what he likes. But have him keep his male pronouns and names because he is a male and will be forever. He is a male who feels like a female, and that is ok. A kid with Down syndrome is a 12 year old but maybe he lives like a 5 year old. And that is ok. We need to love and accept people with disabilities just as they are.

In my imagination, a Bruce Jenner would have stayed Bruce, but told the public he has had lifelong gender dysphoria and he is happier wearing X, and with careful thought at his age he would try a surgery or two. But he stays him no matter what he looks like because we need to accept that some males don’t feel as male as others and that is how things are.

6. We need to focus on prevention. This brain / sexual development takes place in a small window of days during prenatal development. Is it bisphenol a in the mother’s Womb? Is it any other endocrine disrupter present in her system? This is where we should be looking. To best help people with gender dysphoria. PREVENTION.

I voted for Trump (I was not a Trumpster at the beginning, but came over to the light in March before the Nov Election) because I NEVER wanted Hillary near any classified or national security info ever again. Period.

I’m a Cruz guy but I supported Trump with whole heart because he was the only other guy in the race I believed would actually fight. He proved that all during the campaign (warts and all) and he hasn’t disappointed me since.

I still wonder about possible treatments that I’m not sure have been tried, or tried for very long. I give as an example one of my sons. He was very small for his age. In 8th grade (age 14), he was 4’ 9”. He was more than 2-1/2 standard deviations off the growth curve charts. At our pediatrician’s urging, we took him to a pediatric endocrinologist. He ran some tests on my son, and we discovered that, while our son was producing a normal amount of growth hormone, something in his body was preventing him from absorbing and utilizing it. Not only that, but he was barely producing testosterone. So it was recommended that we try injecting growth hormone daily. It helped! Within a few months, he started growing by 1/4” or so! He was under the treatment of the endocrinologist for 4 years, and when he graduated from high school, he had grown to 5’ 9”, the size of an average teenager his age, and with his growth plates closed.

The point I’m trying to make is that I don’t understand why we are treating gender dysphoria with hormones from the opposite sex. Is it not possible that, like my son, the existing hormones are not being absorbed or utilized? Perhaps they are underproduced. I would like to know if this treatment has been overlooked because there is an agenda to thrust chaos in our way.

We were very close to doing the same for our special needs son, he was so small. I told him I was not going to do these gh shots for Little Yaelle Son now, but for Mr. yaelle’s Son, the adult man he would be, who would probably wish his parents had so chosen when he was young enough. We were afraid he wouldn’t be much over 5 feet. He started eating more and growing more, and he’s on track to reach probably normal height now.

My mid level knowledge of hormones leads me to believe this may be more than hormonal. I have had my sex hormones adjusted a lot. Never did I want to be male or want to change my orientation. I think there may be some structural thing in the brain that went wrong, but I agree that more experimentation needs to be done. Some fo these people are so unhappy and desperate, surely some would be willing to be in such studies to try and help them.

I’d also like to see serious international uterine fluids studies done, contrasting western and even eastern women from civilized nations with women & girls in remote, clean, simple islands etc.

“Medicine” is fixated on a poor solution, transition.

Your premise is flawed. How would, say, a boy, know what it is like to feel inside like a girl? For that matter how does a person born with testicles and a penis, know what it feels like inside to be a boy?

The truth is, we ALL are individuals, we feel inside the way we feel. Reality is accepting what affirmatively we are biologically. To say you feel you should be a girl when you look in the mirror and see a boy, is a mental disorder.

Now my opinion, the mentally ill should be locked up in insane asylums, and that means homosexuals, transexuals, lesbians and pedophiles. I do know this will itself be seen as an insane proposition, but I am okay with that. You see, I am already locked into a very large insane asylum. It is called America, and we all suffer because we are normaphobic, We the normal, fear expressing ourselves for being exactly what we are, even though we are 95% of everyone.

When the minority run the majority, you have a tyranny as surely as when a King/Queen & Lords/Ladies ruled over the masses. This minority is every bit as looney and oppressive as Henry VIII, or King George.

For those of us who will not bow and scrape when they pass by, we have to fight with the normals who LOVE their status as serfs. These elite perverts, don’t need laws to enslave us, society does that just as surely as chains do.

As it was in 1818 in Mississipi, a black man could walk free in any city. That didn’t make him free, chains were not needed. All he had to do was disobey one command from a white street urchin, and he could be hanged and he knew it.

In 2018, as I walk in Seattle, I may look free but in fact I am not. If I deign to place a red hat with MAGA written upon it, I will be beaten and most likely arrested for inciting a public disturbance. The same can be said for just about any College town, or modern city.

Someone once said, “may your chains rest lightly”. WELL how do they feel guys?

You presented a totally new perspective. Why this isn’t presented publicly by Health Professionals is probably more proof of oppression of the normal.

Yaelle, I don't doubt one word you're saying, and I suppose from your long experience you know more than I.

But this is the part I don't get. How does a person "feel" like "a" boy or "a" girl? When the way girls feel is all over the map, and the same is true of boys?

What I'm getting at, awkwardly, is that

The following graph roughly expresses how I see it. It's the classic bell-curve shape of a statistical normal distribution, and in this case it shows the digit ratio of the index and ring fingers, --- but doesn't necessarily matter just what we're measuring here, let's call it "masculinity" and "femininity," whateverthehell that means):

So how would a boy come to the conclusion that he feels like a girl? "A" girl? What girl? Mrs Don-o at 5? Mrs Don-o at 15? Yaelle at 9? Willa Cather at 19? Aphrodite? Ma Kettle?

I don't think there IS a "girl feeling". I think a boy who thinks he has "girl feelings," actually has his own feelings (by definition, "boy feelings") but has been told they are girlish.

Your thoughts?

I seriously have many, many questions, Alas, I am no longer in the field of medical research, though that was my field for several years. If I could now, I would ask my son’s endocrinologist, because I trusted that man. However, he has passed unto the next world. To my knowledge, he was a doctor who who was there to actually help his patients live in the real world, not a made up one.

***What I’m getting at, awkwardly, is that

there is not “a” girl way to feel, or “a” boy way to feel,

the ranges of feelings are, I suppose, very substantially overlapping

how people feel may change with age, mood, or circumstances, and

how we feel is so largely incommunicable, anyhow.***

You may think it awkward, and possibly it is, but I think that your 4 points are spot on.

There is a pop-culture trend of asserting that males and females are so different that they actually have no feelings, interests, or tastes in common.

You expressed my thoughts better than I did in a previous post. There is just something wrong with the way people, without knowing what thoughts are like within another, whether they are normal or not, will support surgery for something that needs mental counseling. It is such a complex problem to just be shoveled into a political organization run by fanatic homosexuals....the Gender police....

Definitely true here. I could put on a Burkha and walk the boulevard unmolested. If I put on a MAGA hat I might as well have put on a klansman robe. You are SUPPOSED TO HATE TRUMP in my neighborhood. Suburb of the entertainment industry.

I was referring to a little boy, say, who in his preschool classroom has no interest in the blocks and trucks but just wants to play with the glittery ponies and dress up stuff. He will get the impression that he is like a girl inside, even though he knows that outwardly he looks like a boy. And he is dressed like a boy. And people think he is a boy. But it doesn’t match. He feels he has much more in common with the other children who love the ponies and nail polish and glitter. And they are 95% female.

If you haven’t seen it, you might not understand. But there are both boys and girls who learn this sad fact about themselves at this young preschool age. And they learned to hide it, once their parents and teachers shamed them for it. It is not an easy way to live.

However, 50%of people are happier after transitioning

I always enjoy your well thought out and fact based comments.

Do you have a (non-trans advocate) source for the 50% figure?

Random thoughts.

I wore a (skirt and blouse) school uniform in Catholic school 1-12, and had a dress for going to Mass.

Straight out of HS I dressed kind of butch. I did not own a dress for approx. 15 years.

I have never owned cosmetics. I have worn make-up twice in my life: once when I was a bridesmaid (for one of Cesar Chavez' daughters, as it happens) and once when I was the bride: when I married. That's the *one* occasion I had my hair professionally "done". (Now my husband cuts my hair.)

Now I wear a dress/skirt every day. I wear a veil at Mass. Nobody has to, not even a woman who serves as, say, Reader.

My son has always been more interested in fashions than I am. That makes him... what? That makes me... what? Whom should I ask?

(I'm not saying this to challenge anyone. I'm just relaxed and musing.)

And it took several decades of marriage to kind of understand how my husband "feels". I'm a little obtuse on that score, but we love each other so dearly that we've both been willing to learn.

Thanks for the compliment, and no, I don’t. I’m a bit ADD RE holding onto data. I know it is a self supported questionnaire type stat, though. And it’s like sending your kid to a $100k a year college. All the parents think the school is GREAT. Sonsome people who have transitioned feel they invested so much into this paradigm that they ‘of course’ are happier after ‘transitioning.’

I think the most honest evaluation after would come from the sad people who realize changing the name and the body didnt take away the ghastly feeling of not fitting in re gender and sex. And if any cure or treatment is only 50% successful, it’s not very promising.

I don’t know what you are getting at. Are you saying that interest in fashion - female? I don’t think anyone believes that.

I think in the 1970s there was a time when girls and women never ever wore skirts and dresses. That era thankfully faded. I don’t want to wear jeans all the time. I love dresses. And some women truly don’t need makeup. Sometimes women with darker skin look beautiful without it. Dark natural lashes, even tanned skin, etc. if I had thick, long dark eyelashes like my daughter why would I ever wear eye makeup?
