Clinton Ally in State Dept Admits Passing Blumenthal/Shearer Material to Steele
Front Page ^ | February 9, 2018 | Daniel Greenfield

"Devin Nunes is investigating me. Here's the truth," is the Washington Post headline. It's meant to carry the insouciant house style of viral social media.

But it's the paper most closely linked to the effort to overturn the 2016 election (democracy dies in darkness) giving a key suspect a forum to defend himself. And no amount of bravado can change that.

The man being investigated in Jonathan Winer, formerly of the State Department, who has Clinton ties. And his piece is an attempt to spin his role in acting as one interface between Clintonworld and the Steele dossier.

(Excerpt) Read more at frontpagemag.com ...

TOPICS: Crime/Corruption; Government
KEYWORDS: blumenthal; clinton; deepstate; steele
Winer is a sleaze ball Clinton operative.

Winer was also involved in the Uranium One bribery scheme and other illegal collusion with Russia.

Now he is running to the Washington Post and pretending to be a victim.

Clintonworld is trying to portray Steele as a heroic crusader, they're putting all the responsibility on him. Blumenthal, Shearer and Winer did nothing. Steele did everything. Clintonworld has itself a British patsy. And I hope he realizes that's what he was getting paid for.

Wonder if Winer might become “suicidal” in the near future?

Steele is probably wearing body armor, changing up sleeping locations and has a food taster.

I would love to see the money flow from HRC and DNC through Perkins Coie and Fusion. I've heard that $12 million went to Perkins. How much was legit (or plausibly legitamate) legal services? How much went to Fusion? How much did Simpson rake off before paying Steele?

The FBI (in the Nunes Memo, IIRC) said that Steele was paid $160,000, which is only a small fraction of the total outlay. How much did he pay to his Russian sources? How much did they pay Nellie Ohr?

It's interesting for two reasons. First, it casts light on motivations. Second, of personal interest to me, is the business model of a corrupt, illegal smear business. I wonder how these things work.

I wonder how many more of these Deep-Staters are going to get jobs in Big Media. I imagine it’s designed to give them immunity from prosecution. Prosecuting journalists, even freshly minted ones, is an assault on freedom of the press, after all ;/

I’m sorry but the magnitude of a near coup attempt to me means that even patsies, dupes and dunces must be prosecuted.

If they’re smart enough or crafty enough to be in positions of duty inside our nation’s highest security departments and other institutions, they can be smart enough to realize they will be prosecuted. The only real job left is to see that they are.

If there is any justice left, they will all be sent up for jailing.

“even patsies, dupes and dunces must be prosecuted.”

I agree.

Steele should be prosecuted.

But the point is that the supposed
dossier” came from Clinton.

Steele was just paid to put his name on it to make it sound official.

Blumenthal is as clean as the driven snow (/sarc).

From link: http://observer.com/2016/03/hillary-has-an-nsa-problem/

........one of the most controversial of Ms. Clinton’s emails released by the State Department under judicial order was one sent on June 8, 2011, to the Secretary of State by Sidney Blumenthal, Ms. Clinton’s unsavory friend and confidant who was running a private intelligence service for Ms. Clinton.

This email contains an amazingly detailed assessment of events in Sudan, specifically a coup being plotted by top generals in that war-torn country. Mr. Blumenthal’s information came from a top-ranking source with direct access to Sudan’s top military and intelligence officials, and recounted a high-level meeting that had taken place only 24 hours before.

To anybody familiar with intelligence reporting, this unmistakably signals intelligence, termed SIGINT in the trade. In other words, Mr. Blumenthal, a private citizen who had enjoyed no access to U.S. intelligence for over a decade when he sent that email, somehow got hold of SIGINT about the Sudanese leadership and managed to send it, via open, unclassified email, to his friend Ms. Clinton only one day later.

NSA officials were appalled by the State Department’s release of this email, since it bore all the hallmarks of Agency reporting. Back in early January when I reported this, I was confident that Mr. Blumenthal’s information came from highly classified NSA sources, based on my years of reading and writing such reports myself, and one veteran agency official told me it was NSA information with “at least 90 percent confidence.”

We can confirm that the contents of Sid Blumenthal’s June 8, 2011, email to Hillary Clinton, sent to her personal, unclassified account, were indeed based on highly sensitive NSA information. The agency investigated this compromise and determined that Mr. Blumenthal’s highly detailed account of Sudanese goings-on, including the retelling of high-level conversations in that country, was indeed derived from NSA intelligence.

Specifically, this information was illegally lifted from four different NSA reports, all of them classified “Top Secret / Special Intelligence.” Worse, at least one of those reports was issued under the GAMMA compartment, which is an NSA handling caveat that is applied to extraordinarily sensitive information (for instance, decrypted conversations between top foreign leadership, as this was). GAMMA is properly viewed as a SIGINT Special Access Program, or SAP, several of which from the CIA Ms. Clinton compromised in another series of her “unclassified” emails.

Currently serving NSA officials have told me they have no doubt that Mr. Blumenthal’s information came from their reports. “It’s word-for-word, verbatim copying,” one of them explained. “In one case, an entire paragraph was lifted from an NSA report” that was classified Top Secret / Special Intelligence.

How Mr. Blumenthal got his hands on this information is the key question, and there’s no firm answer yet. The fact that he was able to take four separate highly classified NSA reports—none of which he was supposed to have any access to—and pass the details of them to Hillary Clinton via email only hours after NSA released them in Top Secret / Special Intelligence channels indicates something highly unusual, as well as illegal, was going on.

Suspicion naturally falls on Tyler Drumheller, the former CIA senior official who was Mr. Blumenthal’s intelligence fixer, his supplier of juicy spy gossip, who conveniently died last August before email-gate became front-page news. However, he, too, had left federal service years before and should not have had any access to current NSA reports. There are many questions here about what Hillary Clinton and her staff at Foggy Bottom were up to, including Sidney Blumenthal, an integral member of the Clinton organization, despite his lack of any government position.

How Mr. Blumenthal got hold of this Top Secret-plus reporting is only the first question. Why he chose to email it to Ms. Clinton in open channels is another question. So is: How did nobody on Secretary Clinton’s staff notice that this highly detailed reporting looked exactly like SIGINT from the NSA?

Last, why did the State Department see fit to release this email, unredacted, to the public?

It NEVER goes from a Clinton to a future “Source”
Always thru an intermediary.

Geeez, another great and timely post!

Do you have any reason to think that Gowdy knew of this. I mean the observer.com link you provided is dated March of 2016. Gowdy was critical of the Blumenthal communications to and from HRC, during the investigation of Benghazi and in the subsequent hearing. (He knew a referral would go nowhere and he said so in the beginning, not so long as the Holder/Lynch types were in charge of US Justice Department.)

One would think that Gowdy would have been either 1) on to the depth of Blumenthal’s access to such a devastating breach of classified info, or, 2) chose to hold it, knowing it would go nowhere under the Obama Justice Department, his sitting Cabinet, nor the FBI under Lynch.

These stories need to start naming names, be damned the torpedoes that serve only to obscure exposing the obvious. This is like treason for political purposes to prop up HRC, who never did a day’s work in her life for the country, but to expand the Clinton fortunes.

The Clintons need to be stripped down of their wealth and half the scandals would cease, overnight.

You’ve heard of money-laundering? This is a case of washing a rumor through the intelligence services so that it get a veneer of credibility. Now liberals don’t automatically believe in anything that comes from the NSA/CIA/FBI. So who were they aiming this steaming pile of manure at?

This is beginning to look like an October surprise that didn’t unfold until after the election (bad timing). But this is the crew that couldn’t roll-out a working Obamacare websites. They are incompetent. Thank God.
