Jim Messina, a former campaign manager for Barack Obama, apparently isn't one to mince words.
During an appearance Friday on MSNBCs Morning Joe, Messina spoke about the irrelevance of public polls so early in an election year, Mediaite reported.
Then he underscored the point to host Joe Scarborough.
"Joe, you know how I feel about public polls," he said. "I think all public pollsters should be shot.
Messina said there were other, more important yardsticks at this point to determine a candidate's viability.
What you care more about is passion and intensity, he said. When I ran President Obamas campaign, the number I looked at every day was intensity. Are my voters more motivated than Republican voters?
He said in the interview that our voters are more intense, the report said.
Messina said recent Democratic electoral performances in Missouri, New Jersey and Virginia demonstrate that intensity levels are in the Democrats,' the Washington Times reported.
A recent column by Fox News contributor Jen Kerns, however, may have revealed the source of Messina's frustration.
According to Kerns, new polling shows that Democrats have lost a recent 15-point lead over Republicans, dropping to only a 2-point lead heading toward the 2018 midterms.

Translation: It's looking pretty bad for us.
Yet, Wolf Blitzer opines that Trump’s rhetoric will get journalists killed.
And considering how the polls usually favor the dems, that's pretty bad.
That's so true.
Then-Ill State Sen Obama at a meeting of the Congressional Black Caucus.
The "passion and intensity" for Obama was such that the Congressional Black Caucus
suppressed this image of Obama with Farrakhan to dupe Americans into voting for Obama.
Fake news isn’t just what is reported; it also includes what they omit from reporting.
The only time a poll can be verified is if the election happens shortly thereafter. The rest of the time it is nothing more than a marketing tool.
And even then...our Governor of Kentucky was down by five points on election day and won by nine points.
I think the problem that Jim has is his former client created a toxic environment. Many people will not answer the phone or lie when giving answers to political polling questions. The reports I’ve read on the subject suggest these polls over sample democrats, etc..
‘Wolf Blitzer opines that Trumps rhetoric will get journalists killed.’
Wolf also opines that Jeopardy is inherently biased against TV commentators...
A pollster is usually hired to perform the work. Unstated in the contract is “give me good news if you want to be hired again.” Democrats don’t want to hear the truth.
Come election day evening, November, 2018...the real results will be, Republicans pickup 5-12 Senate seats and Republicans will pickup 12-20 House seats. Many liberal progressive Democrat Senators will lose their re-election bids, Tim Kaine, Bill Nelson, Clare McCaskill, Joe Manchin, Sherrod Brown, plus all the Democrats in the ten states that Trump won easily in 2016,
Democrat Party is destroying itself with each passing day...and American voters know it and want it to happen. Blue collar workers by the millions will lead the way for the massive Republican victory. It’s the economy, stupid.
All the other Democrat hogwash jive, counts for zilch!!! Case closed.
That would be, “biased against stupid TV commentators”, wouldn’t it? :)
Good point.
That photo is the perfect example; Obama’s true nature was concealed by a media determined to enthrone him. It makes all of their other puff pieces “fake news”; Obama was down with Jeremiah Wright and Calypso Louie.
#Metoo!
Did someone cry "Wolf?"
Sorry, that was just Wolf crying...
I don’t really see that as a problem
Reduce the surplus population might not be a bad thing
There is no doubt Dems have a motivation edge, GOP need to get the MAGA voters motivated... on that vein however I think the Dem actions onthe shutdown and pelosis 8 hour speech on how illegals are more important than citizens and othe stupidity by dem supporters... going ape poop over a parade etc are going to motivate the MAGA voters as well.
But the GOP can’t be complacent. They need to fire up the troops and remind them exactly who these people are daily
Charles Dickens did have a way with words.
I think all public pollsters should be shot.
