RALEIGH, N.C. -- A man pretending to be a three-star U.S. Army general wanted to impress a woman when he unexpectedly landed a helicopter at the headquarters of a North Carolina technology company last year, a federal agent testified Monday. Details about the strange case of Christian Desgroux emerged at a hearing before a federal magistrate, who ordered that the defendant remain in jail pending his upcoming arraignment.

That’s nothing! James Clapper, Obama’s CIA Director, impersonated an Air Force Lieutenant General for years. Come to think of it, Obama impersonated being a President for 8 years also.
Article headline is incorrect. He landed at a private facility.
It wasn’t a “base”, it was a soccer field. SAS doesn’t have a helipad BTW.
I’m still not quite exactly sure who was where. Imposter + pilot in the helicopter (from where?) land at SAS soccer field, says he’s there to pick up a woman (SAS employee?) for a briefing, she gets in, they fly around, he drops her off back at SAS, sometime later the cops catch up to him somehow. That’s my best construction of it from the article.
I'm pretty sure, under lib rules, that if he "identifies" as general we're all obligated to respect that identity.

I remember that scene where he inspects the band, pretending to be a general.
