Merkel herself did not act on humanitarian grounds when she decided to let these people through to us. She thought it was an opportune way to supplement her image given the current mood in the country, which was very pro-refugee.
Many people, including me, thought it was the right decision in this exceptional situation to allow a limited number of people to come here for a short time. Nobody guessed that this “state of emergency” would become permanent, not even the Chancellor and the government itself.

It’s called national suicide. Europe is dead with a few exceptions. But those exceptions will, like the U.S., have to fight to maintain some semblance of Western Civilization in the future. Demographics destroy cultures more completely than thermonuclear war.
I hope it isn’t too late. As it is now, the Muslims are taking over some of the most beautiful churches in the world and turning them into hideous mosques.

Not too late. Merkel is just another narcissistic power hungry politician. It's long past time for the world to realize that ambitious wannabe ‘leaders’ are like poison mushrooms, or pufferfish, or nightshade, or anything else in our world that can kill us. Never, ever, ever trust them with your life or your fate. Ever.
We are not out of the woods yet. The RAtS and RINOS are still screaming for his blood and impeachment is still a possibility if we don’t vote the right way.

...and this is the reason that I think Japan’s whitewashing of their past is better than what Germany did. What good is understanding your past, if it creates a psychosis that leads to national suicide?

We saw the pictures OURSELVES - thousands of miles away. A boat with 50 people would have 3 women, 5 children, and 42 fighting-aged men (with the women and children always in the front of every picture). It was PERFECTLY OBVIOUS to use that they were colonizers. If they were refugees, the families would have joined them...but since it was safe to leave the families behind, then they weren’t refugees.

Does this mean that the awakening and remorse is setting in? A little late I would say and perhaps too late.
Anyone even with only an ounce of brains as well as being somewhat familiar with history could have foretold what the results would be. But as the old saying goes, unless we learn from history we are condemned to repeat it. Not to mention the religious aspects which also enter in to it. For heavens sake we never ever should discuss or bring up the possibility that some religious believes may be better or more suitable than others.
