It smells like an excuse here. Mandarin can be used to indoctrinate anywhere, if it can be used in China.

Why are U. S.-China relations important on a citizen to citizen level? I do not personally know one Chinese person.

Whatever the wishes and rationale are, here are the facts: the right in the US is not going to be happy with anything giving lessons in the US that has official ties to the Chinese government.

To really let the issue be debated through in an American way will require the whole thing be thrown open for view in English. But to imagine that the Chinese government will out of sheer Chinese historical integrity resist the temptation to do what it has been accused already of doing, seems implausible. After all, Chinese Communism doesn’t care what China looked like before the Maoist revolution, except to resolve not to return to it. But that past was a product of Confucianism. Why shouldn’t it be on the table too? Why can’t Confucianism be allowed to sweep Marxism off the table as an inimical thing? Any Confucianism that could do that, would be opposed by the Chinese government.

This is my last reply. No further purpose can be served by replying to a person like you.

“A person like me”? Why not just say “you”? We are all unique. There is not another person like me nor another person like you.

And you bought too many vowels.

My daughter went to a Christian university. They talked about the gospel.

China's reputation for human rights violations is even more a legacy of Confucianism than of Communism. Take away every true-believing Communist in China (a smaller number than generally thought) and they would still be beating and imprisoning dissidents and stifling free speech at the same level they do today.

China needs to revert to its Taoist past, and reject the great collectivists Confucius and Mao who set the country on the wrong path.
