But Benjamin Netanyahu backed down after a call from Putin, it is reported Putin warned him against escalating the conflict in the region after Russia has spent years propping up the Assad regime Vladimir Putin warned Benjamin Netanyahu to back off from military strikes in Syria after an Israeli warplane was shot down in the region on Saturday. The Russian President told Netanyahu in a phone call on Saturday evening to avoid a course of action that could have 'dangerous consequences for the region'. At the time Israel had just completed a second round of bombardments against Syrian forces and what it says were Iranian installations in the country and was considering further strikes in retaliation for the loss of its jet, Haaretz reports.

But Putin, who has spent years propping up the Assad regime in the hopes of staving off American interference, put a swift end to the confrontation, it is reported.

According to headline: ‘Putin orders Netanyahu.’

Netanyahu to Putin: middle finger.

Likely accurate, given the emergency Putin call.

Yeah. Hard to sell your latest greatest gear after the Israelis smash them to bits! Demonstrates that all those missiles they sold the region can’t stop the Israeli Air Force.

Yeah...ain’t buying the headline either.

Maybe Netanyahu (so hard to type wtf)...agreed to limit strikes if Russia intervened and prevented any further drone launches...etc.

He didn’t crap himself and say Yes Sir to Putin....

Well...probably didn’t.

;)

Putin might send his aircraft carrier into the region!

It also demonstrates that the S400s weren’t being fired as these attacks commenced. They have kept a close hold on them.
It would be nasty, but if those start getting unleashed, they have a range that includes every inch of Israeli airspace.

I would think the call is more along “you’ve made your point. But soon S400s may as well be fired if you’ve decided to take them all out”.

They were put there to keep anyone from attacking the Syrian army via the air. So if the attacks don’t stop, it could get even worse over there.

Might be good....all that coal smoke would cool the region and produce more dates in time for Valentines day.

Pretty sure I’ve lost the plot at this point.

Netanyahu should tell Putin that he will comply with the request the same day Putin withdraws from Ukraine.

That’s a funny chain of command when non-allied leaders can issue orders to each other.

Israel would kick Russia’s azz so bad it wouldn’t be funny.

They have no ability to project force into Israel without getting their azzes handed to them badly.

Russia is a has been. They can take the useless ICBMs and shove them, as far as Israel is concerned.

BTW, Israel can take the S400s out if they so choose.

If you pay attention enough to know Israeli police recommended that Netanyahu be indicted on corruption charges then you knew there would be something involving Syria and/or Russia that was a big enough story to bury that recommendation.

The other way around... the allegations [since when is criticizing a news outlet considered a bribe?] were issued to try to prevent action against Iran.

That’s what all these litigious dog and pony shows are about- both there and over here.

So, if in one day, Israel took out half of Syria’s Air Defenses...why wouldn’t they just take another day, and take out All of Syria’s Air Defenses.

The media is just full of it.
