Opinion: President Trump must dump John Kelly in what's become a no-win situation
CNBC "News" ^ | February 14, 2018 | by Jake Novak

The Rob Porter domestic abuse scandal is more than just another bout of bad publicity for the White House. It's an actual dilemma that leaves President Donald Trump with no great options, only differing levels of bad choices.

But every sensible choice includes chief of staff John Kelly leaving the White House.

The key is what Kelly knew about the evidence of Porter's domestic abuse record, when he knew it, and what he did about it when he did know it.

That leaves Kelly stepping down quietly and the president not commenting about it as the least bad scenario. It's still not going to look good for a White House staff that seems to be in constant chaos and flux. But the appearance of a White House organization in disarray is still preferable to what comes off as a lack of decency and tolerance for damning evidence of domestic abuse, not to mention serious security lapses.

This is indeed a real scandal for the Trump administration. Real damage has been done and more will come. But what the president does next will determine just how serious that damage will be.

Unless he had a police record for being convicted of domestic abuse then I don’t give a rip what an ex wife said during a divorce.

Well, Slick Willy so lowered the bar, I don’t give a rip. Many of the people screaming the loudest were fine with his antics, and some have done worse.

Was there a complaint filed on the man way back then? Was there an indictment? Was he found guilty? If not, then all these “concerned” people need to shut up.

The person in question, is entitled to due process, and is innocent till proven guilty, no matter how much the MSM wants to try to convict him. He resigned. End of story.

And the chaos that seems to be - that’s manufactured by the presstitutes, so I just tune it out.

Sorry, I just can’t be concerned anymore. Kelly is not my favorite general, but this is not reason for him to go. Just more Fake outrage to try to take down anyone that is not a full blown swamp creature. Pfft.

I’m just curious as to whether or not they accused him back then. But I would expect his ex-wives would have been questioned.

You can look forward to a lifetime of fake news. These reprobates have zero integrity and are chronic liars. Nothing will change in that regard.

If the allegations against Porter are true, then it was appropriate to accept his resignation. However, whatever Porter did, and whatever Gen. Kelly knew or didn’t know, does not mean the General must resign. The Left wants the General out because he is an effective leader who has gotten control of the White House staff. The Left was much happier in the early part of the Trump Administration when all those jockeying for power and access created chaos. The President should reject calls for Kelly’s ouster and should refuse to accept his resignation should one be offered. General Kelly is a patriot who has served this country with honor. He has earned the support of the President and the American people.

What BS! Keep Kelly and rub libs noses in it. Kelly is one of Trump’s top confidants. Gen Kelly is a bit too liberal for me but he is good for The Donald to have around. To keep Trump grounded.

Frankly, every time the left tries to attack the right on grounds such as this Porter issue, they remind me of the guy in The Jerk yelling “But he’s not carnival personnel!”

It just looks both funny and stupid. They might as well breathlessly report that Trump’s limo driver had an unpaid parking ticket in 2012. It’s equally relevant.
