If there is an obstruction of justice case to be made against the president in the Trump-Russia affair, James Comey is in the middle of it. President Trump's decision to fire the FBI director is often cited as Exhibit A for obstruction, and the foundation for that case is a set of seven memos Comey wrote describing conversations he had with the president between Jan. 6 and April 11, 2017.
The memos are critically important. Portions of them have been leaked to the press, given to a Comey friend, discussed in congressional testimony, and read by a few Capitol Hill lawmakers and staff. Sometimes it seems the only people who have never had a chance to see the Comey memos are the millions of Americans who are trying to make sense of the daily firehose of Trump-Russia news.
They're not likely to see the memos anytime soon. The FBI and the office of Trump-Russia special counsel Robert Mueller have imposed tight restrictions on access to the memos, holding them even more closely than some documents that are classified at a far higher level. Now, with speculation about obstruction ever present in the media, some lawmakers are calling for the memos to be released. It's time for Americans to know what's going on, they say.
The public part of the memo story began on May 16, 2017, when the New York Times published a story headlined, "Comey Memo Says Trump Asked Him to End Flynn Investigation." The paper reported that a Comey-penned memo detailing a Trump-Comey conversation the day after the firing of national security adviser Michael Flynn was "part of a paper trail Mr. Comey created documenting what he perceived as the president's improper efforts to influence a continuing investigation."

Trump never asked Comey to end the investigation.
He told Comey (emphasis added) “I hope YOU can see YOUR WAY clear to LETTING him go”.
That is in no way a request or a demand - it is merely an expression of his hope for a good result after Comey investigated HIS way and made HIS decision whether or no HE would LET Flynn go.
Big whiff on the memos. Comey memos still make it hearsay. he said-he said.
Because Democrats and leftist get what they want.
INDICTMENTS are way past due,
The is the BIGGEST stall and CYA operation I've ever witnessed.
Makes you wonder.."WILL ANYONE EVER BE PROSECUTED?"
Or, the Comey memos exonerate Trump which puts the entire lot of bad actors in the spotlight.
Because they would hurt the Democrats.
“The is the BIGGEST stall and CYA operation I’ve ever witnessed.”
Breathtaking, isn’t it?
There is no controlling legal authority that’s is not corrupt & loyal to the left or compromised (Jeff ‘the rat bastard’ Sessions)
Unless something happens soon, I think we can all assume, correctly, that the swamp has won.
Only if you give up.
This house of cards and corruption is going down. The top of this corruption is Obama. The real question is who will fall on their sword and take the fall for Obama? Comey is a weasel, he will not. Will Loretta Lynch take the fall, Perhaps? Ohr? I do not think so. I think in the background the Rats are talking and looking for a deal.
Gowdy is one of the few people that actually read it and THATS exactly what he said....its Defense evidence exhibits-A. Mueller is trying to protect the narrative that Trump obstructed Justice so he has to hide the memo as long as possible
Comey’s memos are secret because he and his publisher of his book coming out in April want a Big Bang for the buck on the book.
“A Higher Loyalty” — yeah, right, Mr. Comey.
A higher loyalty to yourself and your wallet.
answer is no: we no longer have a republic, it is an oligarchy with global masters
Comey's memos of what he discussed with Trump are no more significant than Susan Rice's post hoc hearsay recollections of the January 5th, 2017 meeting in the White House, or, for that matter, Richard Nixon shouting "We could [pay hush money] BUT THAT WOULD BE WRONG" into a microphone that he (and no one else) knew was there.
Ultimately, if Trump denies it, the fact that Comey says it happened is not dispositive of much of anything without further evidence.
Or, the Comey memos exonerate Trump which puts the entire lot of bad actors in the spotlight.

I Think you may be on to something.
Imo,. Comey is the one player in this drama that can bring everybody down.
One clue was his congressional testimony that [bill priestap] fibber director of counter intell told comey to withold information from cong oversight
Will be interesting to watch it play out.
Is everyone here turning into a Concern Troll? Would it be better if AG Sesdions held daily pressers on the status of each of the multiple criminal investigations in progress, including the RICO investigation of the Clinton Foundation going on in upstate New York? That way, the AG could defend himself to us Freepers and give the perps plenty of notice as to his next moves.
Or DOJ could conduct a quiet, methodical batch of parallel investigations without compromising future convictions by so prejudicing JQP that defense lawyers will be able to argue that their clients cant get a fair trial due to the pretrial publicity.
For now, my confidence remains in President Trump.
Democrats are LAW-LESS because Republican “leaders” are BALL-LESS!!
After repeated presentations from Mueller’s office, Judge James Boasberg wrote, “the Court is now fully convinced that disclosure ‘could reasonably be expected to interfere’ with that ongoing investigation.”
Boasberg is an OBAMA APPOINTEE and, incidentally, a FISA judge
Even if Trump had ordered Comet to stop investigating Flynn, how would that be obstruction of justice? There is nothing obstructive about a boss telling his underling to stop an investigation when there is no basis for the investigation. Since there is not, and never was, a crime alleged, the entire investigation is a sham.
Only Republicans until Sessions and however many more DOJ Rat agents are retired or removed before the light of day disinfects the vast corruption of our legal system.
