FBI acknowledges it didn't investigate tip on Florida shooter

The FBI acknowledged on Friday it received a tip last month that the suspect in the Florida school shooting had a "desire to kill" and access to guns and could be plotting an attack, but agents failed to investigate. A person who was close to the shooter, Nikolas Cruz, called the FBI's tip line on January 5 and provided information about Cruz's weapons and his erratic behavior, including his disturbing social media posts, reported The Associated Press.

The caller was concerned that Cruz could attack a school. In a statement, the FBI acknowledged that the tip should have been shared with the FBI's Miami office and investigated, but it was not. The admission came as the agency was already facing criticism for its treatment of a tip about a YouTube comment posted last year. The comment posted by a "Nikolas Cruz" said, "Im going to be a professional school shooter."

The FBI investigated the remark but did not determine who made it.

This is all Trump's fault. He failed to resign in disgrace and spank himself on the way out for colluding with them Russkies, so the FBI had to devote more and more manpower to proving that he dood it, and didn't have any time for some paltry school shooting.

Why would the FBI follow up a tip without a bribe?

It would spoil the Dems’ chance to talk about gun control, if they didn’t let the kid shoot up his alma matter.

They couldn’t come up with a way to pin this guy as a Russian spy who worked with the Trump campaign, so they went no further with it.

You think that is /s? Yesterday a postal clerk shared with me that some people coming into the PO voiced it was Trump’s fault.

Of course they didn’t investigate. This isn’t the traditional FBI anymore. This is the new weaponized FBI, doing the work of Hillary and Barack. Spying on Americans, creating fictional records, destroying paper trails, entrapment of political enemies. They don’t have time for that other stuff anymore.

As I was crossing Jamaica Bay on the A Train, with the towers still standing and smoke coming out of the upper floors, there was some ditz making a speech about how it was Dubya’s fault. 17 years later, the same ditz is probably making the same speech about Trump.

FBI Statement on the Shooting in Parkland, Florida

https://www.fbi.gov/news/pressrel/press-releases/fbi-statement-on-the-shooting-in-parkland-florida

“On January 5, 2018, a person close to Nikolas Cruz contacted the FBI’s Public Access Line (PAL) tipline to report concerns about him. The caller provided information about Cruz’s gun ownership, desire to kill people, erratic behavior, and disturbing social media posts, as well as the potential of him conducting a school shooting.

Under established protocols, the information provided by the caller should have been assessed as a potential threat to life. The information then should have been forwarded to the FBI Miami Field Office, where appropriate investigative steps would have been taken.

We have determined that these protocols were not followed for the information received by the PAL on January 5. The information was not provided to the Miami Field Office, and no further investigation was conducted at that time.

FBI Director Christopher Wray said:

“We are still investigating the facts. I am committed to getting to the bottom of what happened in this particular matter, as well as reviewing our processes for responding to information that we receive from the public. It’s up to all Americans to be vigilant, and when members of the public contact us with concerns, we must act properly and quickly.

“We have spoken with victims and families, and deeply regret the additional pain this causes all those affected by this horrific tragedy. All of the men and women of the FBI are dedicated to keeping the American people safe, and are relentlessly committed to improving all that we do and how we do it.”

The FBI was too busy chasing non-existent Trump-Russia collusion
leads. Wray should be fired. Then Rosenliar, then Sessions.
All should be fired.

FBI Director Christopher Wray needs to step down for accoutability. It maybe unfair but the facts already admitted to require it.

So, we taxpayers are on the hook for the FBI salaries, but also the mega-lawsuits, which are being filed as we speak.

It’s almost as if whoever it was in DC that received the tip of an unstable white guy in Florida welcomed the possibility of a mass shooting.

Is it true that the FBI was forced to confirm this publicly only after a blogger posted the Cruz YouTube videos?
