One reason why I am critical of the definition of “obesity” is that is says I should weigh 50 pounds less than when I graduated high school

I put all this crap on the back burner when they first started out and declared Michael Jordan was in his prime and FAT by their standards.
Hard to take them serious after that.

According to the weight charts seen in doctor’s offices I am FIFTY pounds overweight. I am six four, weigh 237, measure fifty one inches around the chest and wear size 36 pants. I need to lose fifty pounds about as much as I need to lose my head. At my current weight I have actually had other men ask me how I manage to stay so “skinny”. Those charts allow about the same weight for a man who does physical labor as they do for a woman the same height who is a fashion model. According to those charts Mr. Universe is hugely obese.
The explosion of obesity is obvious to anyone who has eyes but the weight charts that I have seen lately do not allow for anyone to be more than a skeletal figure. According to the charts I should lose fifty pounds yet those who actually know me ask how I manage to stay so trim and fit looking at 73. Some people have this strange thing called muscle weight which is nothing like fat. I wear size 2xl shirts and size 36 waist pants. Some people of my height and weight wear pants larger than their chest measurement.

There may be no way to "stop" it, but it can be severely curtailed by ending the pushing of "eat lots of carbs!" dietary fraud.
