How Banks Could Control Gun Sales if Washington Won’t
New York Slimes ^ | Feb. 19, 2018 | Andrew Ross Sorkin

What if the finance industry — credit card companies like Visa, Mastercard and American Express; credit card processors like First Data; and banks like JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo — were to effectively set new rules for the sales of guns in America?

Collectively, they have more leverage over the gun industry than any lawmaker. And it wouldn’t be hard for them to take a stand.

PayPal, Square, Stripe and Apple Pay announced years ago that they would not allow their services to be used for the sale of firearms.

This liberal commentator has all the answers. He is former NYT writer and now a former Hillary Clinton supporter who has a TV presently on Squalk Box on CNBC.

His proposal would be likely to do next to nothing to curb gun violence.

Obviously this fellow wants to see a run on some banks.
We’d all be yanking our money out faster than you can say
“shall not be infringed”.

If Mastercard were to do the same, assault weapons would be eliminated from virtually every firearms store in America because otherwise the sellers would be cut off from the credit card system.

What's to stop me from plunking down cash for my next firearm?

Because nobody would figure out to use their credit card to buy a money order and pay for the gun that way.

I won’t do business with a bank that violates my civil rights.

Furthermore, it won’t be retroactive, there’s a lot of guns out there, and I will buy and sell whatever I want.

Liberals never cease to amuse me. They have no idea that there are so many ways to obtain a firearm without whipping-out a credit card (means both legal and illegal). Now, with 3-D printing, it is becoming more difficult to control firearms.

What if we gave everyone a Mark? That way they could neither buy nor sell any “bad stuff” without bowing down before the Beast of Progressivism?

How many school shooter punks financed their weapons?

One of many reasons why the New World Order wants to outlaw cash.

How Banks Could Control FAKE NEWS if Washington Won’t

What if the finance industry — credit card companies like Visa, Mastercard and American Express; credit card processors like First Data; and banks like JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo — were to effectively set new rules for the creators of FAKE NEWS America?

Collectively, they have more leverage over the Media industry than any lawmaker. And it wouldn’t be hard for them to take a stand.

PayPal, Square, Stripe and Apple Pay announced years ago that they would not allow their services to be used for the sale of firearms, they should extend it to Media Broadcast companies peddling FAKE NEWS....

It would be unconstitutional, since we’re pretty much forced to use their services these days.

Ever hear of CASH? Sorkin is a typical New York liberal who thinks we all use plastic for all our purchases. And yes, Cruz had a job, as most teens do, so he would have had cash to buy his gun.

Seems to me that the credit card companies would do themselves better by refusing credit to those on psych drugs.

Imagine the gnashing of teeth and outcry if these same banks declared they would refuse to handle any funds to or from Planned Parenthood.

What would happen if banks refused business from marijuana sellers? Oh, wait, they do.

People will find a way around obstructions, and odds are, take other business to the alternative methods as well.

If someone wanted to go this way...why not also limit alcohol or tobacco sales via credit cards as well? You could see gun sales switch over and just mark the transaction as candy sales where you buy a AR15 and a Snickers bar.

To take this suggestion as some serious amount of judgement...shows the lack of knowledge over how sales transactions work and how credit cards have been attached to society.
