Shootout to win a championship is Euroweenie nonsense. Kudos to the US ladies but real hockey is won with both teams on the ice. I remember the Islanders knocking off the Capitals in an NHL semifinal in 1987, with game 7 going into the 4th overtime. That’s more than two entire games in one night! This is like deciding the Daytona 500 by running test laps. Exciting but it’s not hockey.

I watched that game. I was drained from it too.
