Two Georgia nurses and an aide have been indicted in the death of an elderly World War II veteran after they were caught on camera laughing as the man gasped for air and pleaded for help.
The video, which was taken February 27, 2014, showed Dempsey gasping for air and calling for help more than six times before losing consciousness.
After finding Dempsey unresponsive at 5:28 a.m., nurses waited nearly an hour to call 911 at 6:25 a.m. Nursing supervisor Wanda Nuckles testified at a deposition that when she discovered Dempsey was not breathing she rushed to his room, took over CPR and kept going until the paramedics arrived. Nuckles was then confronted with the hidden camera video that shows she did nothing when she first arrived at Dempsey's room.

Sue them into oblivion. The hospital, the nurses, their families, ALL of them.
Orange is the New orange
Won’t the future America be great.
I can’t remember where I saw the whole video, but it was outrageous... and the committee investigating grilled her hard. Set her up real good, then showed her the video of them doing nothing but laughing about it.
Almost four years later, to the day of this event.
Is it that registered nurses are in short supply?
Is that why some hospitals are so slow at ridding themselves of poorly performing nurses? Is the labor union protecting them, the way bad teachers often are?
Nah....just bind their hands and tape their mouths and nostrils shut. And laugh at them while they expire.
Sounds fair to me.
Why do some people despise Veteran’s? Veterans make possible your freedom. These nitwit murderers need to lose their freedom.
AH DINDU NUFFIN!!!!
Laughing at the dying old white guy. If this were reversed........
They despise white people.
Crazy enough the facility is still open.
One star rating with Medicare and all.
Forget this “if it were reversed”, it’s not reversed this was murder. Happens every day. Racist murder of a defenseless aged white veteran. Period.
Have thought that a one way walk into the woods on a cold night would be preferable.
Why I will never live in Atlanta again. This is the dark underside of “the city too busy to hate” that no one will admit but everyone in fact lives by. Gotta have eyes in the back of your head at all times.
My husband is lined up for a huge promotion that may require us to move back. It could be anywhere from 5-10 years depending on when the boss retires. I’m praying something better will come up before then, or that at least our kids will be out of school by then. I can’t imagine their wellbeing ever being left in the hands of such as these.
Hang them all.
..........yes, I wonder how many more vets died at the hands of these women in that ten months?
I couldn’t watch the tape!
When an elderly person’s assets run out, he gets put on Medicaid. Medicaid does not pay much, but the nursing home is not allowed to put him on the street.
The nursing home thus has a financial incentive to hasten his death.
