Then again, there are reports of the FIB being on site, when their closest office is supposedly 24 minutes away.

And yes, Scott Israel is in serious CYA mode. His deputies were negligent in not arresting Nikolas Cruz on multiple occasions: beating up his brother, his mother, other kids, throwing rocks at moving cars (felony), stealing neighbor’s mail, loitering , trespassing, destruction of private property (repeatedly), harassment, threatening bodily harm (repeatedly), cruelty to animals, etc. ad nauseum.
