FBI Tip-Line Caller Said Nikolas Cruz ‘Is Going to Explode' [Transcript of call]

A person close to accused Florida shooter said she wanted ‘clear conscience’ if he ‘just starts shooting’

A person close to the teenager accused of killing 17 people at a Florida high school warned the FBI she was concerned he would “get into a school and just shoot the place up,” according to a transcript of her call with a bureau tip line operator more than a month before the massacre.

More recently, Mr. Cruz “switched it to he wants to kill people,” the unidentified woman told the operator in a somewhat rambling conversation.

“Something is gonna happen,” she said. “Because he’s, he doesn’t have the mental capacity. He can’t, he’s so outraged if someone talks to him about certain things.”

The transcript, reviewed by The Wall Street Journal, provides chilling detail about the woman’s efforts on Jan. 5 to warn authorities about Nikolas Cruz’s propensity for violence and his troubled past. The caller’s identification was redacted from the transcript.

“You know, it’s just so much,” she said on the call. “I know he’s—he’s going to explode.” She said she was making the call because she wanted a “clear conscience if he takes off and, and just starts shooting places up.” [snip]

The FBI last week acknowledged receiving such a call, which it said was from a person close to Mr. Cruz. But the transcript, and the stark nature of the caller’s precise warnings about Mr. Cruz’s disturbing actions and volatile temperament, previously hasn’t been made public.

The caller began by saying Mr. Cruz had the mental capacity of a 12- or 14-year-old. She said he had started posting messages on his Instagram account that he wanted to kill himself and she’d alerted police to that threat, but wasn’t sure what happened in that investigation.

Some key points from the phone call if you can not view the full article at the WSJ link.:

He had recently changed from wanting to commit suicide to wanting to kill people.

She predicts that something will happen, for sure, and that Cruz has diminished mental capacity and that he's constantly outraged.

Cruz enjoys cutting up frogs and birds on the kitchen counter to see what's inside.

Incoming proceeds from a life insurance policy were supposed to start paying him $25k per year. He was already using his mom's SS money to by guns and ammo and she feared that is what he'd do with the incoming insurance money.

The caller tipster gave the FBI detailed information including Cruz’s social-media accounts with the user names to verify what he posted and her allegations that he was photographed armed as a ninja or fighter for Islamic State. The woman is very alarmed.

She told the FBI that Cruz had been expelled from schools for throwing chairs at others when he didn’t like the way they had spoken to him.

The FBI claimed the call never made it to its Miami field office for investigation but should have been categorized as a threat to human life.

This must have been one of his deceased mother’s friends or the former neighbor.

She should have immediately called the place where he claimed he was going to strike- his school- MS Douglas.

We need common sense, reasonable FBI control laws.

Whatever he was taking, they probably doubled it when his mom died.

Good Lord, screwing that up is no simple mistake. Apparently it wasn’t even an anonymous call! that’s dereliction of duty.

Between Broward Sheriff Dept., Broward School Board, DOJ making them stop arresting kids and the FBI, this is a huge scandal. But nobody’s talking about it because the media have hijacked this thing into a Big Brother Two Minute Hate of the NRA and Republicans.

How was this guy walking the streets? Between the Youtube post the FBI fumbled and everything else we’ve heard, this guy should have been locked up.

This is WHY the left is howling. Screaming diversion is what it is...

The public isn’t that stupid.

This case may be the death of “disarming the public”. Good.

Imagine if they find evidence of that? Hmmm....

There are people that need to go to jail for this regardless.

So much for “letting law enforcement protect us”.

The absolute incompetence of all of the agencies involved in this mess is absolutely disgusting. It seems that if you work for the government (state, local and especially federal) you don’t need a brain or a work ethic. Drones.

It sounds like she was pleading for them to believe her and had all the information to confirm her fears. The writing was on the wall.

She likely gave them her full name, address, phone, SS# and Dr. License #.

She likely told them where to find Cruz, his numbers and his social media names.

She described in great detail the risk he posed and that he had the means to make it a reality. She urged them to act because he was escalating and unravelling further psychologically.

She could not have been more explicit and forth coming in trying to prevent this tragedy.

Maybe she was talking to an FBI robot and it malfunctioned.

No greater case has ever been made for the 2nd amendment than this fiasco!

Arm the teachers, let parents and kids decide if they want to attend gun protected schools, or gun free kill zone schools.

Pills can’t fix crazy and sometimes they make certain people worse.

That's my point. These drugs are largely to blame for most of these shootings. They're also responsible for many teen suicides. We need to have a serious investigation into this. Unfortunately, these shootings are politicized to push the gun control agenda. Kids are being harmed badly every day in schools with these prescribed drugs and no one seems to give a damn.

Good question. I’d ask, what good is the FBI?

After this FBI malfeasance and incompetence,
after the cowardly police response,
after the Broward school board policies of not arresting in order to defraud the Feds out of money.

... they want me to unilaterally disarm in such an environment? GFY
