The charging document says that SRO Peterson saw Cruz get out of the Uber, recognized him as a problem, saw that he had a duffle bag and a backpack, called someone to tell them about it, waited outside until he heard the first shots, and then called in the Code Red.
I don’t think that was Peterson, rather an unarmed hall monitor.
And even THAT just resulted in more deputies standing around. When the cops "see something, say something" has no effect, it's time to fire the cops and take care of business without their useless carcasses sopping up taxpayer resources, and worse, giving a totally false sense of security.
Broward County will give him a pay increase and more staff.
