I don’t think so!!
They have shown nothing but incompetence in this area.
I think I fend for myself rather than wait for backup that is going to hide until the shooter runs out of ammo or targets.

Sheriffs are elected in Florida and just about everywhere else. That’s one of the reasons that sheriffs departments in general are often corrupt, ineffective and prone to serving special interests (whether it’s the good ol’ boy network or the local politically powerful Muslim organizations).
Police chiefs are appointed and there is accountability. Sheriffs have no accountability and their only goal is getting elected or re-elected.
