Argentina’s coast guard said it fired on a Chinese boat illegally fishing in its waters before embarking on an almost eight hour chase to capture it.

Nobody was reportedly injured and no fishermen were detained.

The Argentine Naval Prefecture said in a statement Friday that its officers fired shots at the Jing Yuan 626 after the vessel was caught illegally fishing in the country’s exclusive economic zone.

The Chinese embassy in Argentina did not immediately provide a statement about the incident, which occurred Thursday after four other vessels also flying under a Chinese flag attempted to ram into coast guard boats.

A decision was then made to “carry out machine-gun and cannon fire” and impede the vessel’s ability to navigate, the coast guard said. …

Not the first time Red China’s fishing boats were bothering Argentina, who sunk one of their boats back in March 2016. Good old John Kerry declares the Monroe Doctrine “over” and this now keeps happening.

This more lenient treatment than the Chinese would give Argentine trawlers

on an almost eight hour chase to capture it.

A fishing boat outrunning the coast guard? Do they use rowboats down there?

The boats might be a stretch but possible. Im more impressed that they could outrun rounds from “machineguns and cannon fire.”

I interpret this as the Argentinian vessel firing shots across the bow coupled with international signals to “Heave To”, which were ignored, so the Argentinian vessel was probably trying for eight hours to cut in front of it and make the vessel stop, which they likely stubbornly refused to do.

I doubt the Argentinians had the guts to actually fire on the Chinese vessel and hit it.

The PLAN uses the Chinese fishing fleet as part of a militia group. Its not the first time they have done this.

They have done it in the South China Sea in Philippine territory and when they get no push back they move in and take the area over.

Just like they’re doing now building these armed islands.

The West had better pay attention because China is going to continue pushing until it hits a wall and stops.

after four other vessels also flying under a Chinese flag attempted to ram into coast guard boats.

Sounds like those four ships should have been machine gunned.

Long Beach terminal: Less than 1% of the containers are inspected. We could have nuclear bombs planted all over the country.

The Argentines will have the US to protect them as long as they don’t go up against the Brits.

Because fishing is always better on the other side of the lake? A lot of lake between Argentina and China!

You know what they say...

If you fire on a Chinese fishing boat...an hour later, you want to do it again.

Yes, at the water line! Argentina needs a caliber upgrade, 40mm at least.

Its not just China, the article mentions the Spanish ship.

The whole world is in love with the taste of the Patagonian Tooth Fish aka Chilean Sea Bass. The Antarctic tooth fish is also called Chilean Sea Bass and they had to implement an international agreement to regulate fishing in the Ross Sea to protect the tooth fish there.

Yes, we watched Obama let the chicomms build naval facilities within the Philippine archipelago.

It was another preventable Rhineland moment.
