Doesn't prove anything. The Hep C cure is a great achievement, but pales in comparison. Heck, I can't recall ever hearing about it.
The polio vaccine had a HUGE impact globally, and still does to this day. I expected so many more similar discoveries to follow and, meh, nothing.
