The gun free school zones act was passed in 1990. The promise made then was that if we made it illegal for anyone other than the police or approved events to even possess a gun while on school grounds, that there would be fewer school shootings.

So how does that claim stand up?

It has now been almost 30 years since the passage of the act. Lets use the historical facts and ask ourselves a simple question: Was the act so successful at reducing school shootings that it warrants the depriving of citizens their rights?

In the 30 years prior to 1990 (1960 through 1989) there were aproximately 87 school shootings in the United States. Since it’s passage, there have been 271 shooting. THREE TIMES AS MANY SHOOTINGS.

So I ask the question again:

Was the legislation so effective at reducing the number of shootings that it warrants depriving citizens of their rights?

Another question to be asked is if the Demoncrats succeed in disarming the general population, will the government be just as successful at preventing illegal arms from flowing across our borders as they were in stopping whiskey during prohibition, illegal drugs flowing into the country , and illegals aliens from crossing the border?

A gun free zone might as well put up a neon sign saying, mass shooters welcome, no one here armed to oppose you.
