The city put up the sheeting in the days after a deadly far-right rally last August which left a counter-protester and two police officers dead.
The city had argued the "shrouds" were meant to honour those killed and injured, but the judge found they interfered with park tourism.
The judge also allowed a lawsuit to preserve the statues to move forward.
Judge Richard Moore ruled on Tuesday that the black plastic sheeting over the monuments to Robert E Lee and Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson must be removed in the next 15 days.

The local media there was running a "tarp removed again" story every other night, because people kept sneaking in and removing the tarps themselves. I guess they're going to have to find something else to fill in that two minutes now.

They were in a chopper that crashed. An accident that wouldn’t have happened if they weren’t up in the air, but not particularly related to the sort of thing they were surveilling.

Not carefully staged at all! The city council started it by importing the NC KKK...9 guys who a local radio host pointed out were the only ones who actually abided by the rules for protests. Then Hillary’s goons vis a vis her thug McAuliffe moved in and thought they were going to score brownie points with someone. Then people started dying and only the perp from Ohio was charged. The town council who set this all up should all have been charged with accessory to murder for the whole scheme as they obstructed justice by ordering the sheriff not to do his sworn duties!

Someone needs to figure out how all this helped the student who first complained about the statues. How has her life been improved by the significant expenditures, demonstrations, riots, death, loss of the reputation of Charlottesville, lower property values, impact on businesses, etc.
