SEATTLE (AP) — Another ambitious effort to pass a carbon tax in Washington state has faltered as both Gov. Jay Inslee and the bill's prime sponsor said Thursday that there weren't enough votes to pass the measure out of the state Senate.

Washington would have been the first U.S. state to impose a straight tax on carbon dioxide emissions from fossil fuels like gasoline and electricity and the legislation has been closely watched nationally.

Actually, this is stunning news as I thought this 'Hoax Tax' would easily pass in the states democrat dominated legislature.

Gov. Inslee is a true believer and in the same wacko-mold as California's Gov. Brown.

The people get a reprieve for now.

This carbon tax would of raised the price of gasoline, diesel and natural gas, which, as usual with progressive social policies, would of hurt the poor and middle-class the hardest.

This isn’t a victory. It’s a reprieve. And any business that doesn’t plan accordingly will deserve what it gets.

The tax is not on carbon. If it were, it would be on ALL living beings, including plants. Carbon is involved in complex molecules in all living things, and many inanimate things.

So it’s not on carbon. It’s on the fuels that are essential to transportation and production/manufacturing. Those are the “means of production” that marxists want so much for the collectivity to own. They can’t seize them just yet. So they do the next best thing: tax the hell out of them.

They have succeeded in controlling the meaning of the word “carbon.” They have turned it into something evil.

Exactly! Harmless CO2 has been transformed into this big dirty, soot-ridden demon called Carbon, by the propagandists.

I’m curious about why it didn’t pass in the end. If it can be stopped in Rats infested Washington state we need to look at why.

I think it all came down to the ‘rats knowing that burdening citizens with new taxes and higher energy bills would hurt their chances for reelection, which it would.

OK!! Everybody pay attention!
Lesson for today:
1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.
2. The sun is a giant nuclear furnace that controls the climates of all its planets.
3. The earth is one of the sun’s planets.
4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.
5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.
Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?

The fun isn’t over. Oregon is pushing a carbon tax. According to Jonathon Gruber, Oregon voters are in the stupid category.

As a resident of Washington state, I am deeply saddened that this tax did not pass. It had a clear and focused goal, and would have accomplished that goal admirably.

If you support that goal, please donate to “Democratic Slush Fund” on GoF***Me.com.

The state failed this time. It’ll be back.

I’m also a WA resident. The legislature turning this down gives us a little hope that this collection of Dems might not be crazy enough to shut our gun rights down.

I’m also a WA resident. I only wrote one comment in local SW paper that the editor included in ‘featuring’ the article. But it used the resources provided here at FR to show the link of the carbon tax to AGW, aka, the Glowbull warming fraud.
