On the 15th and 16th of March, The Permanent People's Tribunal will hold a hearing on violations made by the Turkish state against the Kurdish population in Paris. A panel of judges will hear investigations into alleged breaches of international humanitarian law by the Turkish Armed Forces within Turkey. The judges will also assess the legality of Turkish intelligence operations against dissidents in Europe.

The indictment, which has been brought forward by the International Association of Democratic Lawyers (IADL), the European Association of Lawyers for Democracy and World Human Rights, Maf-Dad, and the Kurdish Institute Brussels seeks to investigate two key questions.

The first relates to alleged war crimes conducted by the Turkish state after the collapse of peace talks between the government of Turkey and the PKK in 2015. In 2015, the Turkish Armed Forces began an assault on Kurdish cities like Diyarbakir, Cizre and Sirnak. The four aforementioned organizations seek to investigate whether or not these actions amounted to war crimes.

"Several sources have reported the use of aircraft, tanks, and artillery by the Turkish army in civilian neighbourhoods of these cities causing massive destruction and loss of lives," reads a statement produced by the organizing committee of the Tribunal.

"These crimes allegedly deliberately targeted civilians with the purpose of terrorising the civilian population" the statement received by The Region continues to state.

The indictment will also, secondly, focus on targetted assassination's believed to have been conducted by Turkish intelligence.

The war crimes Turkey is accused of are from 2015 and is well documented in spite of Turkish government attempts to prevent examination. These were done to Turkey's own citizens.

And similar crimes are now happening in Efrin region of Syria.

All media coverage that comes out of Turkey now is government Propaganda.

The Permanent Peoples’ Tribunal, headquartered in Rome, is an internationally recognized civil society human rights tribunal functioning independently of state authorities. It applies internationally recognized human rights law and policy to cases brought before it. The PPT is a descendant of the 1967 Bertrand Russell-Jean Paul Sartre Vietnam War Crimes Tribunal, and it hears cases in which prima facie evidence suggests abridgement of basic rights of ordinary people.

PPT Sessions are virtually identical to courtroom proceedings in which a complainant or class of complainants brings an action against a government or private party and asks that they be judged against legal standards. The panel of judges in each Session is usually comprised of five to eleven members, about half of whom are jurists practiced in international human rights law and about half of whom are other highly respected members of civil society. The judges hear testimony from victims, witnesses and experts in various fields, hear arguments from prosecuting and defense attorneys, deliberate and in time issue findings and recommended remedies.

They are going to talk about it.

Tell it to the Armenians.

How many nations have recognized the Turkish holocaust against them? And that was a hundred years ago.

Correct. And Donald J. Trump recognized it in the U.S.

Trump recognizes slaughter of Armenians, avoids terming it ‘genocide’

https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2017/apr/24/donald-trump-recognizes-slaughter-armenians/

Trump called the Armenian Genocide what the Armenians called it, Metz Yeghern, “the Great Evil”. The word Genocide did not exist at the time it took place. The word came later.

Talk?

Remember, Turkey has never admitted to the Armenian Genocide in 1915. Does that mean it must always be so?

So, is now the time to force Turkey to admit this, in Efrin?

For perspective:

The Armenian genocide 100 years on. “The Great Evil ”. (May 1, 2015)

http://www.southworld.net/the-armenian-genocide-100-years-on-the-great-evil/

Look at the map. The area of the massacre included all of present-day Turkey, most of Syria and of Iraqi Kurdistan.

Can you now see why Turkey has never admitted to it?
