That idiot that got elected in Alabama over Judge Moore Dug Jones is calling for Gun Restrictions, my Alabama friends are saying H. NO!
Kroger owns the Fred Meyer chain which is only in the Pacific Northwest. Fred Meyer is like a smaller size Walmart Super Center with furniture, hardware, clothes, etc. as well as groceries. It is upscale from Walmart, with better brands. Our local Fred Meyer started carrying guns and ammo a few years ago, which I liked at the time.
Still not sure if I am willing to boycott Freddy's over this since I like the idea of more stores carrying guns & ammo. Even though their prices are too high IMHO. The practice of general merchandise stores carrying weapons normalizes their ownership. This is something I want to encourage.

This is a tougher issue than a lot of people on our side think. I am a big 2A supporter, and have taught my kids, grandkids and some friend's kids to shoot. They all loved it. OTOH, I have never personally known anyone anyone under 21 who I would trust alone with an AR-15. With adult supervision, sure, but not alone.
And the argument about trusting 18 year olds in the military with full auto assault rifles is fallacious. They get a lot of training (hundreds of hours) and a lot of adult supervision, complete with some formal, and much informal, psych evaluation during that training, before they ever get issued the rifle.
And, if I ever find anyone over 18 and under 21 who I think is responsible enough to trust alone with an AR-15, I can legally gift one to her.
The big deal is that I don't trust any additional infringement, however slight.
Why would anyone go shopping for a gun in a grocery store?
Sure looks to me like a marvelous future for privately owned gun stores. More jobs-—more sales-—more profits-—The major chains are killing themselves——with words, not guns.
Amen. Let them control their businesses the way they want. Its a free country. Dont have to shop there too if we dont want. Its a free country.
Ask yourself just how many do they actually sell?
I believe lots before they quit selling them. I bought my Colt LE 6920 at Walmart. Disks and Field and Stream are owned by the same people. Field and Stream had buttloads of AR style rifles, Walmart ammo is the same as anywhere else except its cheaper.
Now, having no said all that, I will no longer shop at Walmart or Field and Stream.
Not a ‘bad’ idea for while grocery shopping they are making a run for bread and milk, they see and think, “hey, .22 shells on sale”! But a firearm from Kroger? Hmm... Would be great if good stuff. But probably just some Chinese made cheap knock-off.
But now that we know Kroger bends to the gun grabbers, guess that won’t be happening anyway.
I’m 70 and I will keep mine.
Kroger owns the Fred Meyer chain?
I thought they were competitors.
Wow, I must say I certainly learn not only more information from FR than anywhere else.

Let us make children out of 20 year olds; because keeping adults in an extended state of “juvenile” is obviously making our society better.

Did they also stop the sale of Tide pods to the kids?
Fred Meyer, Inc., is a chain of superstores founded in 1922 in Portland, Oregon,
by Fred G. Meyer. It merged with Kroger in 1999, though the stores are still
branded Fred Meyer. The chain was one of the pioneers of one-stop shopping,
eventually combining a complete grocery supermarket with a drugstore, clothing,
shoes, fine jewelry, home decor, home improvement, garden, electronics, toys,
sporting goods, and more under one roof. Fred Meyer stores are located in Oregon,
Washington, Idaho, and Alaska.

Kroger sells guns and ammo?
Love it!
” I have never personally known anyone anyone under 21 who I would trust alone with an AR-15. With adult supervision, sure, but not alone.”
Why? Magazine capacity? Would you trust someone under 21 with a Mini-14 with a smaller mag?
Not trolling, just curious your logic.
5 major retailers try new sales pitch by getting on band wagon failure ensues.
You might be surprised how little training the average military people receive.

Individual businesses can sell or not sell/ impose age restrictions on whatever they want. It is their business. Why are so called Conservatives worried about this? You have a right to not shop at these stores. I have done away with the NFL, Walmart, Target, Whole Foods and others I cant think of right now.

Sorry, but
1) That horse done left the barn w/ the Civil Rights Act
2) This plays right from the (R)N(C) playbook: don’t do a DAMN thing, play by ‘the rules’ and expect the water to smooth over again.
#2 is greatest fallacy, IMO. It’s the ‘poo poo’ of the Right when others tell ‘em re: any slippery slope. The ‘That’ll NEVER happen *here*...’ in the face of countless examples: Leftist take-over of education, Gaystapo, feminism, etc.
You can buy a gun at Kroger?

I don't even like to see kids with a 10/22.
The real problem is that an autoloader is always ready to fire, with minimal trigger force, whether the shooter is or not.
The only solution to this problem is training and maturity.
Smaller mag helps only a little in that the shooter will count his rounds and be more aware. But I have seen too many younger shooters do some pretty wild things. I always stand right next to them, ready to instantly control the muzzle until they have had significant experience.
