Lyft has been called "the woke alternative to Uber," a reputation the company apparently decided to embrace on Friday when it announced it would be offering free rides to people attending a prominent gun control rally later this month.
The rally in question, the March for Our Lives, was organized by students in the aftermath of the shooting that killed 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, on Valentine's Day. It is scheduled to take place on March 24 in cities around the country.

Lyft co-founders John Zimmer and Logan Green announced the policy in an open letter to the students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School expressing condolences and solidarity.
"We believe there is something seriously wrong when the threat of gun violence is so frequent and real throughout our country," they wrote. "And like many, we are inspired by your leadership."

Ugh, plus Lyft takes tips to make up the promotional value of a trip (IE: guaranteed pay, other driver incentives.) Guess need to also tell the students that the tip should be $10 and in cash.
Time for all 2nd Amendment supporters to boycott Lyft.
What if someone refused to take them to the gun rally, would it be like the poor souls who didn;t want to bake a cake...
wow ... great timing for this post. I was just about to get the app so I could use lyft on Tuesday. Guess I’ll just go to Uber.
Drop them all off at the rally then refuse to pick them back up.

Hmmm, I’ve heard of Uber, but not Lyft. We have neither one in our rural community so I no way of boycotting them.
My first (and only)time Uber ride went where it was supposed to, but the driver was a rather marginal character. I’d prefer a regular cab.

I wonder how they would like it if I offered free guns to go to a Lyft control rally.
I believe UBER does not let ccw folks in their vehicle though how would they know. Might be fun to take one to meet a friend at the range.

Did anyone else catch the hour-long interview Hogg did with The Orlando Sun Sentinel? The interviewer mentioned that there was a PR company they kept "bumping into" when trying to book the kids for the interview, and that the PR company was trying to manage the message. Hogg responded by giving her the stink-eye when she said that, then replied with a non-answer.
