North Korea makes 'agreement' with South Korea after historic meeting: KCNA

SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korean leader Kim Jong Un met senior South Korean government officials for the first time and said it is his “firm will to vigorously advance” inter-Korean ties and pursue reunification, the North’s official news agency said on Tuesday.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un meets members of the special delegation of South Korea's President in this photo released by North Korea's Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on March 6, 2018.

A 10-member South Korean delegation led by National Security Office head Chung Eui-yong traveled to the North Korean capital, Pyongyang, on Monday in hopes of encouraging North Korea and the United States to talk to one another.

Washington and Pyongyang have been at loggerheads for months over the North’s nuclear and missile programs, with U.S. President Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un trading insults and threatening war.

Tensions between the two Koreas eased during the recent Winter Olympics in South Korea, where President Moon Jae-In hosted a high-level North Korean delegation. Kim Jong Un invited Moon to North Korea for a summit, which Moon said the two sides should work towards.

“Hearing the intention of President Moon Jae In for a summit from the special envoy of the south side, (Kim Jong Un) exchanged views and made a satisfactory agreement,” the North’s Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said of the meeting.

The agency did not provide details on what that agreement was but an official from the presidential Blue House in Seoul said it partially addressed the summit offer made by the North.

...

The delegation will wrap up a two-day trip to Pyongyang later on Tuesday after another meeting with North Korean officials, the spokesman said.

Rofl, the “agreement” is total vapid b.s. anyone who thinks the Norks will give up power is on hallucinogens. Their idea of “unification” is solely under the control of Big Brother Kim Jong-un.

What gives me pause is that every time the south korean version of liberals mention “reunification”, they seem to mean complete capitulation to the Norks as the liberals appear to view Norlkland as some Utopia.

Kim’s been seeking to re-unite the two Koreas right along - under a nuclear cloud.

President Moon’s parents were communists. He is an agent for the North.

Dictators tend to be amenable to idea of abdication when their time is coming to an end. I’m not saying the North Korean people are rising up, but China might be wanting to cut its losses on the matter.

Well insofar as we go another day without nukes flying, fine.

I do not see this working out. Not with the nork leader being any kind of leader the south or the north wants over them.

Color me skeptical. And cynical.

It’s conceivable, a real solution has depended upon China all along. But are they really ready to pull the plug on the NK regime and have a united Korea that would hardly be friendly to China? Seems unlikely, but if anyone can pull off such a deal it will be POTUS Trump!

If there is peace, the orchestra of leftist anguish will once again be heard through the land.

True, especialy true if they have really nice golden parachutes waiting for them in an untouchable third country.

Didn’t Kim Jung Un do some studying in Switzerland?

Kim murdered his own uncle and half brother.

The “cheerleaders” he sent to the Olympics are sex slaves passed around by the governing elite.

And South Korea is negotiating reunification with this guy?

Likely scenario: Joint rule by Moon and Kim. Then Moon has and ‘accident’ or terminal health problem and Kim has to step in. Moon would fall for the joint rule scheme.

The people of South Korea are not quite ready to place themselves under the tender mercies of the Hermit Kingdom.

This will end badly, as it always does.

Kin Jong Un is smarting badly from US led sanctions. He thinks that South Korea will keep him supplied with his luxuries and other necessaries such as banking services, Kim needs to get paid by the Syrians and Iranians who he supplies with ordnance and chemical weapons platforms for Sarin Gas and Mustard Gas.

I hope that is sarcasm or you are the most naive freeper in the history of FR.

He wants Trump to be pressured into not attacking and protecting us.

HE is CRUEL and RUTHLESS to his own people or I guess all that mortar killing of individuals and chemical testing on his own people doesn’t matter anymore.

He wants to unite!! Democracy for all!!

I’m SHOCKED at some freepers’ incredible gullibility.

We have 30,000 troops in South Korea....and the present status between the two countries is in limbo (cease fire).

There can be no agreement.

And reunification is ridiculous.
