The Broward County Sheriff’s Office has identified to Fox News the captain who, according to sources, directed responding deputies and units to “stage” or form a “perimeter” outside Stoneman Douglas High School, instead of rushing immediately into the building, as the mass shooting unfolded there.
Multiple law enforcement and official sources said the commands in the initial moments after Nikolas Cruz allegedly opened fire would go against all training which instructs first responders to “go, go, go” until the shooter is neutralized. As law enforcement arrived, the shooter’s identity and exact location were still unknown.

How can you reasonable expect a cop to run towards danger, especially if the perp has an Assualt Rifle 15 - fully automatic - with a 200 round clip?

Just think of Boss Hogg junior newsman, had turned his camera on live streamcasting views of the school shooting to 911 or a pressroom instead of interviewing his fellow students under stress about the need for tougher gun control legislation.
Can 911 handle video calls yet and if not why not?
Hard to tell from the pic. But obviously a "diversity" thing, being promoted from her last job serving papers.
The OTHER police department did just that.
And the so-called perimeter was breached by the shooter who’d escaped campus.
And an ROTC student gave his life that day helping others escape to safety.
Looks like a nice guy.
This is why some jobs were meant for men.
Yeah, but their student arrest numbers have come so far down over the last few years.
These days a DNA check is in order.
Besides, what was it’s training and RoE as issued from above?
That’s what they’re paid to do. If it’s reasonable for them to cash the paychecks, it’s reasonable to ask them to perform.

Not sure if that's a reality yet, but it's my understanding that many 9-1-1 call centers are now capable of taking emergency "texts."
Imagine the frightening possibilities there; many, if not most of my friends and relatives can't send me a coherent text while NOT hysterical.
Not to mention texts with erroneous or incomplete information from anonymous senders that "don't want to get involved."
How did law enforcement know what kind of weapon Cruz had if they didn’t go in and didn’t see it on video as it was happening?

There’s no excuse for her actions. Fire her & take away her badge and gun. She obviously doesn’t need them.

They were probably worried about the chainsaw bayonet or one of the other fearful attachments you can get for an AR-15.
