Gowdy & Goodlatte Call for Special Counsel on FISA (truncated)
Fox News Insider ^ | Mar 6, 2018 | As seen on Special Report with Bret Baier

Posted on 03/06/2018 6:19:05 PM PST by FreeReign

wo top House Republicans repeated their call for a special counsel to look into alleged abuse of the FISA process, in the way a warrant was granted to spy on a former Trump adviser based on an unverified dossier with Russian sourcing.

Trey Gowdy of South Carolina, who chairs the oversight committee, and Bob Goodlatte of Virginia, who chairs the judiciary committee, said Attorney General Jeff Sessions must appoint a special counsel.

The two men said they have faith in Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz to do a thorough job in the matter, but note that he doesn't have jurisdiction over two dozen important witnesses.

Gowdy said the IG can compel testimony mostly from people who currently work in the department.

Yup. I believe Sessions cut a deal to get the nomination. Sessions will defer to Rod RosenSwamp on Deep State Hillary scandals. Rosenstein will bury everything.

There’s only a dozen or so Repuki congressmen that have signed on for a special counsel to investigate the Obama admin/Hillary/FBI/DOJ conspiracy of high treason

The GOP are quite content with what mueller and sessions are doing. Let that sink in.

The bottom line with Sessions is that he still believes you can fight "Rules for Radicals" with "Robert's Rules of Order".

Apparently, unlike Trump, he's one of the old dogs that can't learn new tricks.

Rosenstein will bury everything.

He doesn’t have enough dirt. The swamp is too deep and
will swallow him alive.

The FBLIE needs be cleaned out at the top. They avoided getting cleaned out when that riskier agent working for them in DC was arrested, when the were covering for the Boston gangster, and had some jerk in LA tied up with some riskier in the 80s while selling products out of the trunk in his g ride.

There absolutely HAS to be a special counsel on FISA, and its scope needs to be broad. To me, this special counsel could be the equivalent of the Boston Tea Party in the context of American liberty.

Exactly. Sessions will defer to Rod Rosenstein and ask him if we need a special council. Of course Rod will say no way and that will be that.

Nailed it. Jeffy wants to be admired in his office world. As a back bencher in US Senate, he is basically a bureaucrat at heart, not a disruptor, not a mover, not a shaker. Wrong choice for AG if we want change.

To me, this special counsel could be the equivalent of the Boston Tea Party in the context of American liberty.

You're right. The clock is ticking. Just off the top of my head, if there aren't indictments and prosecutions ongoing by November 6, 2018, all hell is going to break loose on election day and the Republicans might just stay home. People have just had it with all of this. And to make matters worse, more and more evidence against the Treasoners comes out every day. It's a tsunami of evidence and connecting all the dots is getting clearer and clearer to every American. And what happens? Nothing. If Jeff Sessions would just say investigations are in progress, it would help.

But wait, how can the FBI investigate itself, the Justice department and all the inside-the-swampers? It just can't be done.

I'm for the 29 Republican State Attorney Generals having an emergency meeting and let a State Appointed Special Counsel do the investigating, prosecutions and legally do what is necessary for the survival of our Sacred Republic. This just has to be done, some way, somehow. Any other ideas?

I just don't see the beltway taking care of under the strict letter of the law. The investigations, if done right, are going to take years. We have seven years to indict all the players above. It has to be done or it will happen again, only worse next time.

appoint a Special Prosecutor now.

prosecute all those (good list above) who manufactured the fake Trump/Russia collusion fantasy to try to stop Trump becoming President.

all MSM who went along - still go along - with the fake narrative, while ignoring all evidence of the actual conspiracy against Trump, need to be prosecuted too.

“Who will go out to eat with Jeff Sessions if he sticks a prosecutor on his dining buddies?”

Bingo. Rosenstein signed the last FISA warrant and would have to recuse himself. This means that Sessions would have to do all the work. Not gonna happen.

Congress has the power to appoint a special counsel. They should do it now.
