Federal law is the supreme law of the land.AS LONG AS that federal law is PURSUANT to the U.S. Constitution, which is the Supreme Law of the Land (Art VI, Cl.2).
The Constitution trumps federal law. The Constitution is the ONLY SOURCE of authority for valid federal laws and acts. It the federal law or act is not constitutional, it is not valid, and should be rejected, resisted, and nullified by the states.
Here, the issue is federal immigration law, which authority the Constitution has delegated to the feds, so the feds are in the right and California is in the wrong.

“”””Session is a joke. Holder would have been on it day one””
Holder would have arrested any cop that went after an illegal.
Sessions will do nothing but talk.

Actually, the nullification crisis was over powers actually delegated to the federal. As in the case here.
There hasn’t been a nullification crisis over powers not delegated to the federal but reserved to the States or the people. Things like regulation of commerce within States or saying things that affect interstate commerce but which are not actually interstate commerce may be regulated. There really needs to be a LOT of that sort of nullification!

"Heres my message to Mayor Schaaf: How dare you," Sessions said Wednesday. "How dare you needlessly endanger the lives of our law enforcement officers to promote a radical open borders agenda."Oh, she dared you. How did you respond? Did you charge her with obstruction?

Gov. Jerry Brown (D) called the lawsuit a political stunt. Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) said the Trump administration was attempting to bully California.Jerry Brown and Kamala Harris, projecting again.

Watching for actions, not words.
Sessions does not impress.
Arrest that mayor and anyone who operates sanctuary's then, maybe I would be impressed.
I think Sessions is nothing more than a posturing self aggrandizing political whore.
He was a Senator after all.

If we won’t let them leave, can we at least kick them out?

The La Raza Politburo in Sacramento does not care Mr. Sessions.
Unless those People are put in Orange Jumpsuits and Shackles, they will continue to push their Agenda.

LOL! He went to Kaliforniastan to make sure the point was not missed - if he prevails, the rest of the sanctuary cities are done...

I’d have to disagree.
It’s not settled. Before the iron fist of the sainted Lincoln came down, secession was not a question. It had been threatened before and simply not carried out. But no one griped about it.
Why on earth would we forbid separation when that is what we did ourselves?
Further, why would one want to force “union” with those who have such enmity against the rest?

Specific lawsuits are being filed against Moonbeam (Brown) and one of his goons. That will be good. Get out the popcorn.

I like to think that someone has explained to Sessions that he needs to exert himself on this one or else.
