George Wallace, Jerry Brown: Same States’ Rights Struggle!
FinkelBlog ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 03/07/2018 6:14:51 PM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

“States rights” was a curse in the mouths of liberals when it came to condemning southern segregationists in the Jim Crow era. But for liberals today, the right of states like California to defy federal immigration law has suddenly become a hallowed principle.

Take Joseph Alioto Veronese, candidate for San Francisco DA. On his Fox News show tonight, Tucker Carlson challenged Veronese: “it is now illegal for private citizens in California to assist federal law enforcement authorities [regarding illegal immigration] . . . how is that different from what happened in the South in the ’50s and ’60s?”

Responded Veronese:

“I think there are interests at the local level that override the minutiae of the differences” in the law.

For California liberals, states’ rights are cool when it comes to defying federal law enforcement on illegal immigrants.

Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.

California is basically in the modern version of a pro-slavery position. Immigrants are de facto slaves, but better since they are paid for mostly by other people.

There are only a few things the feds should be doing and border control and national security are two of them. And enforcing lets say a travel ban is a POTUS constitutional right.

If the Constitution was actually followed (10th amendment) just about all federal law would be erased.

George Wallace was a politician but he was also quite liberal in most ways. He actually even supported integration at least when he first ran.

The one area he was really conservative, is I think he really did believe in state’s rights.

Immigration is federally pre-empted. Giving immigration to the states could create 50 jurisdictions with immigrants who may not travel between the states.

National defense and immigration are two areas in which the Federal Government legally does control.

Illegal immigration (enemy invasion) is the greatest threat, along with their allies the liberals, this country has ever faced.

The Alioto’s have exposed themselves as some of the dumbest stumps in the forest since their parent’s generation left the political stage in SF.

The only one dumber then this brainless twit is Angela Alioto.

“I think there are interests at the local level that override the minutiae of the differences” in the law.

Why is this person an “Officer of the Court”?? he obviously knows nothing about the Constitution or the Law, shouldn’t he be under investigation by the BAR association and disbarred for not having the slightest clue as to how our laws work in this country??

Why is a person like this ALLOWED to be an “Officer of the Court”??

George Wallace was a Democrat.

Jerry Brown is a Democrat.

The difference between George Wallace and Jerry Brown is that when the cameras left George Wallace stepped away from the school house door.

George Wallace knew his side had lost.

Jerry Brown is still ‘standing in the school house door’ totally clueless.
