Will this still apply? And why should law enforcement get different rights than citizens? Law enforcement are simply our employees. They should get same rights, same laws, NO EXCEPTIONS.

I will bet a buck they got some statistics, and it showed that a far smaller percentage of people aged 18-20 purchased guns than people aged 21 and up.

It was easy pickings for them. The only people who might be really upset are law abiding 18-20 year old people who had the money and desire to purchase a weapon but are unable to.

I am against it because it is completely, totally, and wholly arbitrary.

I know a lot of 18 year olds I would readily hand weapons to (Hello, US Marines?) and I know millions of 21 and up people that I would prevent from owning weapons if I had the power to do so. (I wouldn’t...but I would like the concept)

Will this still apply?

That is the text of the bill as passed by the Florida House and Senate.

Why should law enforcement be able to use LEOSA and conceal carry anywhere in the United States?

Why should law enforcement be exempt from Kalifornia's approved handguns roster, and be able to buy whatever they want for personal use?

Why should law enforcement get free coffee from Dunkin' Donuts?

The coffee is a bribe; which should put into question their ethics.

When not in uniform, no police officer should get rights beyond what their fellow citizens get. They are our employees and when out of uniform are simply fellow citizens.

Thanks - been a long time since I saw 21 - or even 51 - so it never came up when I was purchasing mine.

Same here (not so much 51 but definitely 21).

However, my son is only a year or so from his 18th birthday so he and I have been brushing up on Virginia and Federal gun purchasing laws, and trying to keep track of the various proposed revisions. It’s actually somewhat time consuming. Of course, in a sane USA where the government followed the Constitution we would not need to be so diligent - but these are the times we love in.

No need for a Bumpfire stock. Amazingly fun! Accuracy is naturally compromised, though. Short handgun cartridges have the highest cyclic rate, since less bolt travel is needed.

Bumpfiring is 100% legal, and safe in a properly maintained modern sporting rifle. Some gun ranges do not like it, though, because they feel you don’t have adequate control of the firearm. I am sure that could well be the case of you bumpfired a cartridge anywhere from 7.62 NATO (.308 Winchester) on up.

I think that as a result of all the anti-gun propaganda, the Republicans are trying to do a few things, to show they are doing something, but still protect the 2nd amendment.

So they give in on a few things, but not the critical ones.

I’ve never had a problem with back ground checks. Does not bother me one darn bit. I am all for keeping weapons out of the hands of as many convicted criminals as possible. Yes, I know they can buy them illegally. We shouldn’t be in the business of helping them any.

Perhaps I'm missing something obvious.

Does the minimum age req prevent ownership, or just purchasing?

In other words, could I still buy a deer rifle for (or lend to ) a teenage grandson, that he could keep?

Raise the voting age to 21, and have a 3 day waiting period for those wanting an abortion.

SHAME ON THOSE AR 15’S
FOR WHAT HAPPENED AT THE PARKSIDE SCHOOL

BLAME GUNS
NOT
PREVIOUS GOVERNMENT POLICIES FAILURES THEY
MUST BE HIDDEN

The inability to counter this perverted (they call progressive) agenda created by the democratic party ( in name only) has its goose stepping adherents in the media left make it up as guns and the NRA garbage through their swill mills. When it should be contested by GOP state and federal legislators who should be demanding investigative hearings exposing policy failures

DON’T MENTION THIS
Besides examining the conduct and arrangements of the Broward county sheriff’s dept performance failures. A dramatic reduction in disciplinary incidents at Parkside were reported after the selection of Obama’s Chicago friend as school superintendent occurred which was publicly acclaimed. And that school district was receiving large grant money from Obama’s Attorney General because of those results. That many critics claimed encouraged criminal activity. Which should require Trump Administration US Attorney General beside find out why when the FBI knew that Cruz should not be able to purchase weapons did. And review these grant programs instituted by the previous Obama administration.

I hope the age limit gets tossed in court. It should.

Arming school employees who volunteer is very good. Just not having a gun free zone at the school would be even better and cost nothing. If any school employee can carry if they wish without being put on a list of “authorized” carriers, a potential mass shooter would face equal or better certainty of meeting armed resistance.

Mass shootings in schools or anywhere would be virtually unknown if not for prescribing dangerous drugs to crazy people instead of segregating them from society, and having billions of our tax dollars spent each year on a murderous covert program to influence domestic politics and budget priorities through terror.

Humans are lousy herd animals, because you can’t even partially control the herd without slaughtering some of them in a bloody spectacle. But the ultimate possible payoff is ruling the cosmos, so the incentive is unparalleled. It’s all easier to contemplate if your soul is withered and your conscience is dead.

I know. I just don’t like it for the simple reason that it doesn’t work with leftists. They don’t see concessions as bi-partisanship or anything like that, they see it as weakness.

And I like it even less that they feel they have to pander to the voting public. I understand why they do it, I just don’t like it.

Just reality I guess.

The answer is to always address glaring government failures with further restrictions on individual freedom and liberty.

There are no police officers in Florida under 21. Also you have to be 21 to get a CWP.

Any Florida state law establishing an age limit on firearm purchases (there are none currently) should be overturned as it violates the state constitution: Article l Section 8 (Right to keep and bear arms) and Article X Section 2 (Militia).

Wow - you’re a war vet with a tour of Afghanistan under your belt? Well thank you for your service.

But your military ID says you’re only 19. Clearly, you’re not mature enough for a gun.

Sorry. :)
