I find it ridiculous that you can vote at 18 but not buy a gun. Isn’t a vote more deadly than a gun? I have objected throughout this process to the manner in which this bill was brought up and passed, not to mention that it does little to address the system failures that allowed the Parkland shooting to occur.

Don’t kid yourself, Scott will sign. He invested his future in the bill from day one. Start lobbying your representatives for at least a partial repeal of this bill.

Why do Republicans always pull this crap? Was there any rush for legislation to restrict abortion when Kermit Gosnell was chopping up babies?

I'm not so sure about that. See my post #19. In any case if he signs he's toast in his coming Senate race.

He can't and won't win if he betrays gun owners. Everyone I've spoken to here central Florida is absolutely pissed about this whole fiasco and it's not just gun owners. They know we're being played again and sick of it.

He's painted himself into a corner with his remarks the past couple weeks but he can still recover IF he doesn't sign. We'll see.

Scott has not said whether he will sign the bill or not.

Scott has done this before on TWO bills that would have abolished alimony in Florida divorce cases. Hemmed and hawed and vacillated before finally wimping out and contradicting previous statements he had made about his intentions.

The ultimate moistened-finger-in-the-wind politician. Do NOT let this guy anywhere near the White House!!

Just ONE MORE LAW for the law breakers to ignore! Total BS! Scott’s political career could very well be over if he signs it!

If Scott signs that bill he can kiss N FL goodbye in the senate election. Its major hunting territory. I’m from Jax. Its gun country.

“Give law enforcement more authority to seize weapons and ammunition from those deemed mentally unfit or otherwise a threat;”

That could be any of us. This is the slippery slope that turns into an avalanche.

“The issue is how is one deemed “mentally unfit” or otherwise a threat?”

I think this issue is why Obamacare had all the medical records online, so that eventually a government agency could search them. Any word deemed subversive on your file could become an excuse to take your guns away.

He’ll sign it! He asked for ALL THESE ATTACKS on gun owners, and a lot more that they didn’t get in the bill.

I kissed the NFL goodbye when their thugs started kneeling for the Anthem.

No need for a Bumpfire stock. Amazingly fun! Accuracy is naturally compromised, though. Short handgun cartridges have the highest cyclic rate, since less bolt travel is needed.

Bumpfiring is 100% legal, and safe in a properly maintained modern sporting rifle. Some gun ranges do not like it, though, because they feel you don’t have adequate control of the firearm. I am sure that could well be the case of you bumpfired a cartridge anywhere from 7.62 NATO (.308 Winchester) on up.
