They have never used 4x4 except possibly on a snowy road on the way to starbucks, and they sucked at it.
LOL reminds me of when I drove on I-84 in NY between Newburgh and Pt Jervis during heavy snowfalls, it wasn't unusual to see at least 6-7 4-wheel drive vehicles spun out in the median or shoulders. A WW2 historian noted that the then new 4 wheel drive Jeeps could go through just about anything as long as they were driven S-L-O-W-L-Y.

Yuppie 4 X 4 syndrome, noted in the early 90’s. Even w/ ABS they miss judge their braking distances and the auto body shops love it....

In my experience the trick with a 4x4 in the snow is that it accelerates much faster than a 2 wheel drive in the snow.
Unfortunately, it doesn't decelerate any better, which many seem to forget.
