US President Donald Trump has sacked Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, replacing him with the director of the CIA, Mike Pompeo.

Thanking Mr Tillerson for his service on Twitter, Mr Trump said the new state secretary would do "a fantastic job".

Mr Tillerson, a former chief executive of ExxonMobil, was only appointed to the job just over a year ago.

The president also nominated Gina Haspel to become the first woman director of the CIA.

The Department of State said Mr Tillerson had not spoken to the president and was "unaware of the reason" for his firing.

Under Secretary Steve Goldstein said: "The Secretary had every intention of staying because of the critical progress made in national security."

Tillerson had a different management style than the majority of the Trump Team. It’s also been clear that he has not been happy in this position. Many times, the president would make decisions without including his SOS in the loop. So, this is not a complete surprise. I hope McMaster goes next.

Maybe, some of Hilliarily’s and Huma’s SOS files will be recovered and released.

Obama State Dept Made Deal With Hillary Allowing Removal Of Records.

Here’s What They Removed.DECEMBER 15, 2017

Newly-revealed documents obtained by conservative watchdog Judicial Watch reveal that the Obama State Department allowed Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her top aide Huma Abedin to remove sensitive documents that were not to be made public records.

Judicial Watch received the records on Thursday in response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request that sought all DS-1904 forms completed by or on behalf of Former Secretary Hillary Clinton, Former Chief of Staff Cheryl Mills, Former Deputy Chief of Staff Huma Abedin, and Former Deputy Chief of Staff Jacob Sullivan.

Clinton and Abedin were permitted to remove both electronic and physical records, claiming “they were ‘personal’ materials and ‘unclassified, non-record materials,’ including files of Clinton’s calls and schedules, which were not to be made public.”

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton noted the gravity of the latest revelations, stating they showed further corruption in the Obama administration and with Clinton.

Why doesn’t Trump appoint people he can remain loyal to?
This revolving door , musical chairs thing down in DC is getting old.

WaPo itself reported that Tillerson had been told last week. This was no surprise.

Quote from WaPo.
“Trump last Friday asked Tillerson to step aside, and the embattled diplomat cut short a trip to Africa on Monday to return to Washington.”

I was in an embassy oversees when Tillerson fired the “seventh floor”. The State people were in shock and dismay.

Tillerson also never moved anybody into those positions.

So I can only imagine how scared the rest of them are.

Rex was not rididng himsef of Obama appointees , he simply isolated his worlk cadre from the rest of the Dept.. There was a disconnect between the need for a smooth and efficient operation concerning hot spots in the world, and Rex stood in the way of the manner in which President Trump wished to conduct foreign affairs.

Rex was a diplomat, but he would not carry the big stick when he walked softly. He was taking too much time to get things accomplished.
